“No major problems but must have caught the receptionist on an off day!!”

All in all it was a lovely cork hotel but the check in annoyed me for rest of our 2 night stay. My sister was also staying in the hotel under our last name, I couldn't remember if we were booked under mine or my partners last name, the receptionist wasn't happy about this never mind trying to help us find out if it was mine or my partners name the room was under all she did was annoy me by her total ignorant attitude. Maybe I'm being sensitive because I work in a customer service environment and expect people who work in the same environment to act accordingly!.....We did also come across a delightful man working on the reception that night who was lovely.....we also got breakfast delivered to the room which was amazing! but since our were all over the place and we wanted to sleep until 3pm we didn't appreciate being woken up to a knock on the door when there was a "do not disturb" sign on it. All in all I would recommend this hotel for it's location and overall experience but the woman on the reception really needs to get her act together!

“Great weekend break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Three lads, well middle aged men really, enjoyed a great weekend in Cork, October 2011. We stayed at the Hotel Issacs. This proved to be good value for money. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend the cooked breakfast in Greens restaurant, it sets you up for the day and it was served by a charming waitress. The rooms were functional and clean. The only criticism was that the bar closed early on the Sunday evening without any prior notice. We returned just before 11pm intending to have a 'night cap' and were left disappointed.
The hotels location , just across the river from the city centre, proved to be ideal. Within easy walking distance of the railway station, bus station and city centre bars and restaurants.
Would definitely visit Cork again and stay at the Hotel Issacs

“Good Stay for a short break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

We stayed for a couple of days beginning of January and had a great stay in Cork. The hotel has a great location on a lively street with some nice pubs and restaurants. We had a nice room but saw some rooms that are very dated when passing and they got cleaned. Breakfast was ok and staff very friendly. Overall it was a good stay, nothing luxurious, but it ticked all the boxes. We will be back when in Cork.

“Overnight at Hotel Isaacs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

My partner and I stayed in this hotel for one night recently. We took advantage of their overnight with dinner at Greene's restaurant rate. Whilst undoubtably the location is very central and only a 5 minute walk to Kent train station this hotel leaves something to be desired. Firstly, on arrival to reception we were met by probably the most disinterested receptionist we have ever encountered. She made no effort to make us feel welcome to the property. Indeed when we asked if Isaacs restaurant, at the front of the hotel, was associated with the hotel she snapped that this particular restaurant was nothing to do with them! We were then told of the requirement to contact the night porter via a bell on the street to gain admittance to the property after 11.30pm and the need to use our key card to access the stairs and lifts to the bedrooms. Not something we have ever come across at any hotel we have ever stayed at. The room itself was functional and the bed was comfortable however it was more reminiscent of a high quality hostel than a hotel room. For example, a number of the television channels had very poor reception and the room lacked a remote control. Overall I would not stay at this hotel when next visiting Cork.

“Great location, great staff, fantastic food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

We booked Issac's Hotel and Green's restaurant for our Christmas party this year with work. 35 of us flew over from London and from the second we arrived the trip was a success. The staff were wonderful, in particular a lady called Regina who went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our Christmas party was a success.

The food in Green's restaurant was incredible. We were not expecting the food to be that great from the dinner to the cooked breakfast in the morning. I would definitely recommend the place.

The rooms were clean and quite spacious. Not the most modern place in the world but for what you pay for, it's perfect.

Overall we all really enjoyed the whole experience and would go back in a heartbeat!
