“Nice welcome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

We stayed on two occasions during November. Both times we were welcomed by name, and on the second visit, given mail that had been sent during our absence. We left luggage between visits as well. Our rooms were very comfortable and clean. The restaurant was used only for a buffet breakfast, which was quite nice (E10 per head). The bar was well serviced and bar snacks quite tasty. Although we didn't have to park our car between our visits, that facility is available , as is a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. All in all, a good experience.

Room Tip: Ask at reception for any special requests.

“Clean, comfortable but not much personality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

I wanted a cheap 'n' cheerful stay for a night before a Christmas shopping blitz of Cork city. My partner had stayed in the nearby Cork International Airport hotel and wasn't unduly impressed so I thought I would try out their nearest neighbour. At 69 euro bed-ony, I was second cheapest in the city - the Travelodge would have been 10 or 20 euro less but I thought the Radisson brand might be worth the extra. The car park barrier was broken so I didn't have to pay the €4.50 overnight charge which I think is ridiculous anyway, given it's an industrial site and no need to be charging. A lovely helpful man checked me in and I said I would ring down later to confirm times of buses from the airport to the city. My room was clean, comfortable, a tiny bit chilly but the decor, while not very exciting, was recently enough updated. It's a kind of gaudy blue wall with while adjoining walls, but there was a nice desk and office seat, with free web access. The small telly was dated but all enough channels and good reception. The shower was good pressure, and hot. Towels clean and fluffy, more in wardrobe. The only thing missing in the entire set-up was a toilet brush, which may prove important if you are sharing a room!
When I rang down for the bus times, the shift had changed and the lady wasn't as helpful as her colleague. It would be another half hour for a bus so I decided to get a taxi. I ordered from her in the lobby but 20 mins later I was still waiting. When I asked her to check she was quite abrupt and said it wasn't long since she had ordered it. Being familiar with Cork, I knew it would have taken about half that time to drive from the city to the airport. But I don't know why they don't have a link with the taxis at the airport terminal which is only 2 mins up the road, rather than ringing a company in the city centre - it doesn't make sense.
Anyway, a very relaxing night's sleep was had, the rooms seem pretty sound proofed. the bed was comfy and white linen clean. The lady on check out the next morning was very nice so all was redeemed! However, a Radisson standard hotel this does not seem to be. But for a cheapish overnight with minimum fuss but not a lot of personality, it's certainly worth a look.

Room Tip: There is no great view from any part of this hotel - unless you like airport terminals, which, bizar...

“A Good Hotel right beside the airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

I stayed in this hotel while attending a series of meetings in November 2011. The hotel has good meeting facilities, good wi-fi and a decent carvery lunch in the bar. Parking is convenient and free for those using the hotel.
The room was reasonably modern and had a very good workspace. the desk is nothing extravagant, but is the most suitable I have found in any hotel. Again, the in-room wifi is very good. The bathroom is reasonable, if not the most modern in the world. The TV is an utter disappointment, a 14-inch from many years ago. If the hotel can link the TV audio to a built-in speaker in the toilet, why can't they buy something slightly larger and more modern?
The range of food available from room service is very good and the tray charge is one of the most reasonable I've encountered. Quality is also good. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout the stay. Unlike some other travellers previously commented on Tripadvisor, my room was not equipped with a Nespresso machine.
Overall, it's a good airport hotel, perfectly located if you have a very early or late flight, but the rooms are nicer in the nearby Cork Airport International hotel.

“Very Good Airport Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

I stay at this hotel probably 8-10 times per year, as I take a lot of very early morning flights and I live 80 miles from Cork Airport. The staff at Reception are excellent and I now get a Business Room every time I stay there. Meals in the bar are very good and very reaonably priced. Rooms are very comfortable. The staff cannot do enought to make your stay pleasant. I arrived back from a long haul trip and was collected at the airport by the night porter who drove the shuttle. He then prepared soup and sandwices for me and it was well after midnight.
Great hotel. One of my favourites.

“It's an airport hotel. But a fairly good one”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

We (an Irish senior rugby club) have been using this hotel for 10 years now in its various incarnations. We stay on a Friday night before matches in Cork. It is very comfortable. The food is good, if not gourmet. Good portions and tasty. The bar is functional. The staff are great and very helpful. They are often overstretched as there are now fewer than there used to be.
Rooms are good and comfortable. Batrooms in some rooms are beginning to need arefurb as dio some of the bedrooms. Never heard a plane yet from inside with the windows and curtains closed.

Room Tip: I've had rooms all over the hotel. They are all good.
