“Good Value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

We stayed here as part of a hen party package which included dinner and b&b, as well as entry into the nightclub downstairs. We all had such a good time. The location is great as it's right in the town and a short walk to all the best pubs.
The hotel room itself was basic but clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. One point on the room though was when people started to wake up and move about the next morning was the fire door kept banging really loudly everytime someone opened it and woke us up so maybe the staff can put rubber strips or something on it to stop it being so loud.
Dinner was absolutely beautiful. All credit due to the chef on this one! Thoroughly enjoyed by all.

“Worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay at.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2011

I went with a group of Friends for a Hen night. I have to say I have never been charged so much for such bad room. it was more basic than your average youth hostel. i didn't write a review at the time but as I have now found out that this hotel has a habit of overcharging people I thought it is only fair to warn people that may consider booking. My word of warning is get a receipt for everything. Due to overbooking I had to pay for an additional room which although they had sold the room in the "hotel" (they said they had another room in the owners house which was across the way from the hotel for our friend that wasn't feeling the best - who would send here sick friend to a strangers house I ask?) Anyway I paid for my own room by laser and paid for the extra room in cash which I stupidly didn't think to get a receipt for. A couple of days later I realised that they had charged my Credit card for another room. There was no way they were giving it back and basically called me a liar saying I had never paid. There was a large group of us all of whom have sworn blind never to stay here again. Word of mouth is the downfall of these types of hotels and for their attitude they deserve it. I have just come back from another weekend in Clon with another group of girls and can say that that is another bunch of people that will never stay at the emmet.

“Great location, food and service, rooms mediocre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2011

My friends and I stayed at this hotel on a stag weekend...grand location in the center of town, across from the park. It has a pleasant pub in the front, and a very active nightclub in the rear, which I believe is only open fri-sun.. The hotel is best for stags and hens, as opposed to a romantic getaway, because of the noise associated with the nightclub. There are two rooms in the front facing the park which would be quieter and perhaps a little more upgraded. Its a great place to stay if you're partying, because you're within walking distance of just about all Clon has to offer.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the park

This is a great hotel and gives you the option of staying in Clonakility for a great price. The food in known as being the best in the town and breakfast is super. Lots of TV channels in the rooms and a clean comfortable bed. What more do you need?

“Never again-don't stay in room 2”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2011

Went on a hen night to Clonakilty on 26th Feb 2011. 14 ladies stayed. I will never stay there again. My room (Room 2) was a big room (1 double & 2 singles) with a sky light. There was no blind for the sky light so the following morning AT 8 AM we had bright daylight in the room. All 3 of us staying in the room are mothers and the sleep in would have been welcomed but it was too bright to sleep. The sink was cracked and broken, carpet was dirty and door rattled any time people walked by on the corridor. Hotel is very noisy and outside noise and doors slamming can be heard very loudly in our room. I said it to a member of staff but she said she would just pass on our comments. What saved the stay was the following: Theresa (member of staff) is lovely and very helpful, bed was clean & comfortable, bar food nice and breakfast lovely. Still I wouldn't recommend it.
