“Location is the only good thing about this place”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2011

Good Points: Location (very near city center and bus station)
Bad Points: They make you pay in advance and I was told that I would lose my money if I left early; probably one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept in (springs poking into my back); strange odor (maybe mold?); no use of the sitting room (the only space available to guests is their room); they weren't willing to negotiate on their nightly rate because I was told it was "rock bottom" but when I later looked on their website, the rates quoted were ten euro lower (hmmm......)

“Horrible horrible experience - do NOT recommend”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2011

They charge you the second you walk in the door for your entire stay, we paid 2 nights and then couldn't leave early after we had such a bad experience as they had our money. They also charge you for breakfast, 7 Euro perrson per day, they cannot call themselves a B&B if they are going to charge. The breakfast was horrible, they microwave the meal, you can actually hear it happening so when they ask you scrambled or fried, say fried as the eggs will not be nuked but the rest of the meal will be. They took over the sitting room with toys for their baby so you couldn't use it, the door was closed to guests, again defeats the purpose of being a B&B. When cleaning the rooms, they prop all the guest doors open so anyone can simply walk into the rooms and steal what they want. We left an item there and when we called to have it shipped to us in Galway, AT OUR EXPENSE, they refused as he said "I don't know how to use DHL". This is not a nice place, it's not cute, it's not in a nice part of town, the food was horrible, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

“Good service and Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2010

We were very lucky to be there during "Jazz Festival". The other B&B in Cork during that week had all "Jazz" price (double price?) but this B&B was okay. And the service was nice, the staff took time to show us on the map the places where we should go for enjoying Cork city. Only 5 min walking to the city center ! Just be careful there's no private parking.

“Excellent.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2010

Excellent location for city centre, as previously descirbed. It's only part way up a hill, only the seriously unfit or very old would have a problem. Good breakfasts, delicious soda bread beside usual breakfast selection. Owners very nice and helpful. Thoroughly recommended and would definitely stay again ever if ever back in Cork.

“Well located.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2010

A well run B&B in an excellent location.
It was further from the rail station than I expected and then had to climb half way up the hill to get to the house. Young and fit guests wouldn't have a problem but I was travelling alone and well over 60!
There is a pub a couple of minutes away that have traditional Irish music sessions. I was there for the evening and had a great time, great music shared with friendly folk.
Jackie and Charlie offered useful advice.
I went to Midleton Farmers Market on Saturday morning, diverse food on offer and interesting people.
