“Catch up with friends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Really lovely, very modern hotel with an old house-hotel feel. Great atmosphere. Staff very friendly and attentive. A small error was made with a main course order but was rectified to our satisfaction with complimentary drinks offered to apologise for delay. Delicious food. Staff throughout our stay were lovely to deal with. Room extremely comfortable, check out not until 12midday which made it a proper break with "lie-in" included! Would definately return and would recommend to any family and friends planning a trip to Cork. Would love to have tried the spa treatments but thought they were a little pricey at the moment. You do have the option to use some of the spa facilities for a very small fee during you stay.

“Excellent Hotel Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

My husband and I have just come back from a very enjoyable stay at The Maryborough Hotel and Spa in Cork. The customer service in all areas of this hotel was top class. The Receptionist accompanied us to our room which made us feel very welcome. The waiting staff were exceptional. The spa was the nicest I have been to. The staff in all areas of this hotel are trained to make the guest feel welcome and cared for. I would describe this hotel as excellent and would recommend it to anyone!

Room Tip: The Spa rooms are quieter

“Girly Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We arrived for a girls weekend and from beginning to end we were treated like royalty. On arrival we were checked in and offered a welcome drink, instantly we felt at home. From here it only got better. As my friend was the bride to be, they left a personalised letter in the room with some treats wishing her an enjoyable stay. The food at every time of the day was first class, breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also booked a cocktail demonstration which was run by the hotel, and it was fantastic fun, definitely recommend for something different and to get the craic going. The spa was quiet possibly one of the best spas we have ever been to. A brief consultation was given before the treatment began and then had the most relaxing treatment and felt a million dollars afterwards. The beauticians were well groomed, well trained and provided a fantastic experience. The relaxation room and vitality suite were fabulous too. After a 2 night stay we came away with the view that we will 100% be returning for another girly weekend. The hotel was also less than a 10 minute journey into Cork City, so perfect location. The highlight for us was the treatment of all staff towards us, from reception, to bar staff, waitresses/waitors, night staff, spa staff, just everyone, the welcome we received was first class. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Cork.

“New Year in Cork”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We stayed in the Maryborough for 4 nights during which we attended the New Year's eve Gala Ball. We chose this hotel because it was out of the town centre and close to a golf course.
We had a tremendously enjoyable stay. All the staff were very helpful, but I must especially mention Liam who organised a round of golf at the nearby Douglas golf club. A very enjoyable course for 30 euro in winter.
We ate 2 evenings in the hotel restaurant and the choice and quality of the food was excellent. Previously Cork friends had taken us to a highly-rated local restaurant, in which the food was not as good as the food in the hotel restaurant, and it was much more expensive. The New Year's eve Gala Ball was excellent. The food was outstanding and despite the large numbers of diners was served hot. The entertainment was very enjoyable as were the people with whom we shared a table.
The cooked breakfast was excellent - the food was freshly cooked and arrived hot.
My wife had a spa treatment as she has done at several hotels in which we have stayed. She rated this as one of the best equipped she had seen.
The room was large and well equipped - not all hotels have a trouser press and an iron and ironing board as standard in their rooms.
The hotel is very popular for weddings, (not surprised at that), and my one criticism is that when the wedding guests are assembling in the bar area it can be difficult to find a seat to have a quiet drink. It would be great if there was a residents' lounge to accommodate this.
In conclusion, we would be very happy to return to the Maryborough hotel and spa next time we are in Cork.

Room Tip: Try to get a second floor room with a balcony.

In relation to your feedback regarding wedding guests assembling in the bar, this unfortunately was a once off occasion as normally our drinks reception is held in the dome.
