Only stayed one night for business, but it is a very comfortable hotel with very good facilities. The food served from the bar menu was excellent. I have to travel to Cork again at the end of January for work and will definately be booking here.

Having no family joining us this year we decided to have Xmas lunch out this year. I left it too late for local hostelries and found the Radisson Blu still had a vacancy for us. Staff were very welcoming & provided excellent & prompt service. Food excellent in the bar on Xmas Eve and the fabulous Xmas Day lunch. Piano playing during meal. Location no problem as we didnt need to venture from the hotel for the overnight stay but still perfect for anyone who would want to tour the area by car. Adjoining, clean & spacious rooms with flat screen tv & dvd player. As we were having lunch we were able to keep our room for a late checkout at no extra charge
My husband & I decided to treat ourselves to a couple of nights away over xmas. Our review of the hotel is very mixed. It is in the middle of an industrial estate unfortunately which means that you don't really have the advantage of the opportunity to go for a nice walk around the hotel & also if you want to go anywhere you do need your car. The hotel lacks a bit of atmosphere in the main lobby, it just seems a bit cold when you walk into the hotel initially. When we checked in I asked if it was possible to get any deals that would include dinner bed & breakfast as there were good deals available on the Radisson Blu website but we were told no there was nothing, end of conversation! We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night, the food I have to say was really nice & service was great. We had a few drinks in the bar & a sandwich earlier in the day & again nice food & nice staff. Our room was lovely, we had a business class room which was tucked away in the corner of the hotel & was really quiet, it was very clean & comfortable, We decided to stay for a 3rd night, I rang the hotel as we were out for the evening, I asked for availability for the following night & was told that by the person who answered my call that she couldnt check the availability, that I would have to check with the desk the following morning, I was a bit surpised at this response & decided to check online & within 5 minutes I had booked the following night on my blackberry, can the hotel not confirm availability directly? We stayed for New Years Eve & decided to go out to a lovely restaurant close to the hotel & looked forward to coming back to the bar for a few drinks to ring in the New Year, that was not to be! The bar was crowded which was fine except that it was crowded with a lot of kids who seemed to be no older than 18/19 & who managed to spend most of their time up & down to the bar & shouting between themselves, this only got worse as the night went on with a lot of comments that were really inappropriate in a family hotel I thought & if we had had our 12 year old son with us we would have left the bar earlier. I was suprised that they were allowed in the bar as there is no way that these kids were 21 or over plus there were 2 bouncers around the bar & lobby area which again I was suprised to see in a family hotel & who, as far as we could see, did not do much to stop even more kids coming in through a door from the carpark or do anything about the man who was fast asleep in the lobby area surrounded by men in dress suits who were attending a wedding & who took great joy in getting their picture taken with this man who seemed to be a little bit the worse for wear! We decided to skip the festivities at 12 & headed to bed early as it was getting a bit too messy. The highlight for breakfast the next morning was 2 women in their pjama's who were casually strolling around the breakfast room & also a number of men still in their dress suits from the wedding the day before, it is hard to know whether the standard of dress for breakfast has gone up or down in a 4 star hotel! When we checked out we were charged more for our extra night than the price we were given on the web. A nice hotel but not sure I would go back, if I do I will invest in a decent pair of pj's for breakfast!
Great value. Good choice of food for breakfast and dinner and great service. Staff very attentive and spa/pool area very nice.
This is a lovely hotel with great food, however I do have one complaint.
We had a drink in the bar a few weeks ago and there was a weekend event
being held in the hotel for a group/club.
When I ordered drinks at the bar the drinks were served in plastic glasses.
I asked if the plastic glasses could be changed for a proper glasses and I was
told that because of the large group that were booked into the hotel that we could only have
our drinks served in plastic glasses (even though one table of four had their drinks in regular glasses).
I feel it is unfair of a hotel bar to expect everybody to drink from plastic glasses just because
there is a function for a particular group being held in the hotel at the same time.
I'm pretty sure the plastic "pint" doesn't hold as much as a regular pint glass.
