“Great attention to detail”

Just returned from a weekend at this hotel, just a getaway for my wife and I.
This is our third time staying here.Check-in was easy and friendly.
We had an inclusive package which included Table D'hote dinner. It was a beautiful meal served up by excellent staff, breakfast here is a buffet though amazing .Our room was large with king size bed .The bathroom was adequate and the shower was excellent, contained within the bath.
The hotel is situated quite near an industrial area, though you would not really notice.
We both enjoyed our stay here. The only thing that made this stay a little uncomfortable was the bedroom was quite warm and did not have air conditioning.
We will be back

“Good value”

We stayed here recently for a wedding and had a lovely day. The hotel staff were very welcoming and efficient. Our room was large and spotlessly clean. The decor in our room was not to our taste. However, it was nice in the rest of the hotel especially where the drinks reception was held.
There may have been some issue with the heating in the bedroom as the room was very hot despite turning the air conditioning dial. We also found that it was a little noisy but this may have been because our room was facing the reception area.
Breakfast was included in our room rate. It was a buffet set up. There was plenty of choice and everything I tasted was nice.
Overall we enjoyed our stay in this hotel and would recommend it to others.

“excellent stay in every regard”

I recently stayed in the Radisson Hotel in Little Island Cork. I was part of a large family anniversary get together. I made all the arrangements for cake, meals etc directly with the hotel and was not let down in any department. With a party of some 26 people including children I was expecting something to go wrong, I need not have worried.

The check in for everyone took approx 15mins and everyone was settled in quickly. No complaints from any quarter about the rooms. Most of the party made use of the swimming pool each day and enjoyed it.
The quality of the bar food which we had on the evening we arrived was excelent and the bar staff did reserve an area for the entire party at short notice. we found the staff excellent and very happy to help. the food with the exception of 1 order came out together and quickly.

The main meal in the Island Grill on the second night was once again of excellent quality and the waitress on the night worked very hard to keep everyone happy which is not easy with a party of 26.

On the day of check out the hotel had reserved an area for the party to have tea and coffee and the anniversary cake(which was made in the hotel kitchen). Without exception everyone enjoyed the cake which to be honest I was worried about as it was something I left up to the hotel, and again I need not have worried about it.

Most of the party travelled by car from Dublin and with the new motorway Corks seems a lot closer now. those who travelled by train found the local station at little Island only a 10min walk from the hotel, and it has regular service from Kent station in Cork, trains from Dublin seem to run every hour. The hotel is located outside the city and this suited our party (stag and hen free). We made use of Fota island park which is about a 10min drive and a great day out the kids loved it.

Enjoy

“Bad Value if you have more than 2 kids”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

Stayed there recently at a family gathering. My biggest gripe with the Raddison is you can only have 3 in a room. So if you are 2 adults and 2 kids you have to have a "family" room which is actually two rooms but you pay for 2 rooms. This means you can be paying €180.00 per night for 2 adults and 2 kids.

The hotel in comfortable enough, though its starting to show its age. The celing in the reception needs painted, and we had a few things in our room that could do with some repair. The disabled door also is broken so getting in with bags is a bit of a pain as they have a small revolving door which is a nightmare with kids and bags.

The pool is one of the better ones i have seen in the Cork area and the kids had a great time in it. The food is good with the breakfast being buffet style with lots of choice.

The rooms are hot, and hard to cool down, but nothing compared to the hear in the corridors outside the rooms. It suffers like a lot of hotels in its design means the heat builds and builds over time as it has no where to release too so it filters into the rooms making the rooms warm up. Great in winter, bad in June, even in Ireland. I opened the windows but as we where over the function room and there was a lould wedding going on it was a choice of being kept awake by the noise or the heat.

Because of its 2 rooms for 4 people its one of the more expensive hotels we have stayed in and i really wish they would sort this.

“saaddened”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2011

We have stayed here numerous times and found it mostly excellent , just back from weekend break where we were harrassed by a drunken man in the lobby as we sat there having a few beers on the friday.
I reported this to the hotel and have not heard anything yet.
this fella decided to join us everytime he went to the toilet and i could handle him but my elderly parents didnt want to make a scene so we ended up going to bed early , which was disapointing as we had spent day shopping and looked forward to a few beers and grub in the lobby seating area as we always sit there
