Stayed in the Hotel 27th to the 29th of Jan, and attended a function on Sat night food and service 100%,and freindly staff. The staff from all departments in the hotel was first class. Bar Food great value, breakfast outstanding. The room was clean,and comfortable. When we got home we discovered we left some small items after us. Hotel reception were more than helpfull and our items arrived by post two days later at no cost to us The only down side I would have is the car park is far to small.

Very nice old building with plenty of character. Very nice furnishings in both public areas and bedroom. Large free car parking in hotel grounds as well as free WiFi through out the hotel.

We had our wedding in the Old Ground Hotel and have to say they everything about the hotel was fantastic from the pre drinks reception cleanliness of hotel. The staff were extremely attentive and went over and above both before and on the day itself. All our guests were commenting on how good the food was. We will be highly recommending it to friends and family for functions in the future.

I stayed at this hotel with a group last weekend and I have to say I can't fault it in anyway. From the moment we arrived the staff could not do enough to assist us and ensure that we had everything we needed. We got a great deal on dinner bed and breakfast and to be honest I expected a very limited menu based on the rate. However, this was not to be. The menu was excellent with main courses ranging from Duck to Seabass. Everything was really well presented and very tasty. The breakfast managed to reach the same service where everything was freshly cooked ot order and the range of options far exceeded my expectations. The service was excellent and a real sense of the traditional irish welcome that we were once famous for but seemed to lose touch of in more recent years but hopefully this is a sign of the times that are changing back to what is important - the personal attention to service. A special word of thanks to Val and David for attending to us in the latter part of the evening. We will be back and well done to all at the Old Ground for raising the standards of Irish hospitality back to their former glory.
