Ihave stayed here with friends and as a solo visitor on a regular basis for birdwatching and nature walks over the last 4/5 years. This is a really well run b+b,on route to the scenic old light house road. Rooms are fresh and clean with a spotless en-suite ,plenty of good clean towels. Single rooms included a double and single bed!!, with herbal/tea and coffee making facilities. After a peacefull nights sleep ,a feast awaits starting with fresh fruit ,cereals and west cork yoghurt and thats before a choice of hot cooked breakfast or homemade pancakes served with a cafetiere of real coffee+lovely brown bread . There is a lovely little garden out front with table and chairs if you like a smoke after breakfast or just want to listen to the birds. There is also a mini library close to the bedrooms with info on the islands and its people. The Island is hilly and it is a ten minute walk downhill to the shop and pubs but because of its beauty ,you have to stop to catch your breath and admire the views to the Fastnet and down to the harbour. There is also a taxi available on the Island. The Leonard family offer a great hospitality with directions to the museum ,bird observotory and ferry times etc.
