We stayed at Steading cottage for one week in January 2012 to attend a family funeral. Geraldine was very helpful and understanding in allowing us to book the cottage mid week to mid week at very short notice. It was lovely to find the shortbread and chocolates on our arrival and also the open fuel stove all set to be lit. Our stay was very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for Geraldine. The accommodation was first class and the quality of the contents was excellent. Being on a working farm was not a problem and if anything made our stay more relaxing as we could hear the gentle moo-ing of the cows in the morning.
Geraldine was sympathetic to our situation and showed us the utmost consideration.
It was so refreshing to have the personal touch provided by Geraldine.

I recently stayed at Craigengar lodge for a 2 night stay with 8 others. From the moment we pulled up our jaws hit the floor. This place is like a dream and I think I speak for all our group by saying each one of us wanted to move in!! Everything we needed and more was there. The rooms are all great sizes with en-suites. I was lucky to have the Ash bedroom to myself with an en-suite bigger than my bathroom at home!! A group of 9 females took over the house and there was still space for more. It was a shame we weren't staying longer. The in-built sound system which links to an iPod or iPhone was a brilliant idea, after following the instructions which G had cleverly put in a one-stop-shop folder it worked like a dream!!! This lodge blew away our expectations & I have been telling everyone about it who will listen!!!! I cannot recommend it enough!!

I recently stayed at the Craigengar lodge for a long weekend. As soon as you turn into where the lodge is you get a WOW factor and it keeps going when you are inside. Everything is five star. The kitchen is fully kitted with everything you need. The open plan livingroom, dining room and kitchen is perfect for socialising, especially with a big group. There were 9 of us in the kitchen cooking dinner and we had loads of space! Each bedroom is en-suite and has lots storage. I honestly kept saying how amazing this place is all weekend. It also felt very much like a home, even though I was only there 2 nights. The location is amazing as well, with fantastic views all round. I'm already trying to think of a reason to go back!

We stumbled accross the Orlege End holiday cottage when looking online for dog-friendly accommodation in and around Edinburgh. What a find! Real 5-star accommodation, appointed to the hightest standard so that you can settle straight in. The reality was even better than the website showed, which is saying something. We spent a lovely night there entertaining family from Edinburgh for dinner as if it was our own home, courtesy of an incredible chinese takeaway in West Calder (the Mei Hua, recommended by the cottage hostess :-) ). We slept 4 comfortably (5 if you include our Jack Russell) and would recommend this to anyone wanting to treat themselves to a luxury base from which to explore Edinburgh and the surroundings. Wish we had more time to stay there longer.
