Torr Buan is a small guest house with just one 'letting' room, but what a place to stay! Set in Mull’s National Scenic Area on the north west coast of the island and in one of the most spectacular localities in Scotland, Torr Buan House is the new architecturally designed home of David and Joy Woodhouse. The views from the suite are amazing!
Designed in an arc, the house takes in panoramic views from sunrise to sunset. The suite looks to some of Mull’s most important natural features, including the Holy Islands of Inch Kenneth and Iona, Mulls highest mountain Ben More, the huge sea Cliffs of Gribun and the historic Island of Ulva. The house is set in acres of secluded and protected natural Hebridean landscape and you may see Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles, Hen Harriers, Owls and other creatures from your very own windows.
The suite is very private. It has its own entrance into the double bedded room which has steps down to a sitting area with TV, sliding doors to the conservatory and decked area with hammock and sun lounges and of course spectacular sea and island views. There is an ensuite wet shower room, central heating, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryer etc. The entire house is cosy and warm because of the high spec sheep’s wool insulation.
Our stay at Torr Buan House was on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast basis. The food is superb! Island produce is used as much as possible and this can include local lamb, beef, sea food, home grown vegetables and free range eggs etc. Joy prepares and serves the meals in your own private dining area with superb views out to sea. David is available to take you on a wildlife expedition and has great knowledge of the local area. David and Joy are excellent hosts; unobtrusive, but always available if you need them. This is a fabulous place to stay and we will return someday for sure.
