“Orgasmic”

Here in central Mull my wife and I found a haven that surpassed all expectations. What could have been better? Nothing.

We do not want to tell you how well appointed and exceptionally comfortable was our bedroom. Nor that we slept like logs. Nor that facilities were kept impeccably clean.

We do not want to tell you that the cuisine would put many to shame nor that there was always an elegant and sufficient choice - be it breakfast or dinner. You would not be interested in knowing that dining was an event in itself and that a table, beautifully addressed and manicured with meals elegantly served gave the "whole" a significant added value.

There's more, for somewhat uniquely, Colin and Angela hosted us and the other guests superbly - it was faultless. But again we don't want to tell you that.

There's lots more - such as the mountains on the doorstep, the sea eagles, the otters and other wildlife but then space is limited and we do want to keep this jewel to ourselves.

Will B and M return? Of that, C and A, be in no doubt.

“Paradise”

If you wish to be spoiled head for here! 3 days off bliss. The attention to detail/gastronomic freshly cooked food /rooms & a mindful of helpful information were second to none. - we rang to say we would be over an hour late for dinner one evening - this was not a problem.Colin & Angela were so accommodating and such wonderful company. We had packed lunches on two days which they refused to charge for.
Paradise on a corner of The Isle of Mull. We will certainly be back sooner rather than later.

“Homely, sociable B&B in the middle of Mull”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2005

Easy to find, friendly, clean B&B in a very beautiful spot. Angela's very good at making sure you're well looked after. Breakfast is very good - you can sink a battleship with what's on offer. Rooms were large with a good shower. TV didn't work, but that's not the end of the world. Eating with the other guests in the evening was new to us, but we loved it - great conversation between three couples in their 30's, 50's and 70's - you don't get this kind of experience very often in hotels or guesthouses. BYO booze was also appreciated and proved to be good value. I can see how people would go back year after year. I wish Colin and Angela every success.

“Gruline Home Farm--Fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2004

My husband and I recently spent a week at Gruline Home Farm on the Isle of Mull in Scotland. Imagine a perfect Scottish country home with antique furniture, but completely modern kitchen and bath, set in Scottish farm country. We saw lambs, wild deer, rabbit... Each evening, we sat down with six other guests for stimulating conversation and amazing gourmet food! Our hosts, Angela and Colin were so warm, so hospitable and so skilled, that we all agreed we'd come and live with them, if they'd let us! This was a dream vacation in a dream location. The only thing we could say on leaving was, "We can't wait to come back."

“The highlight of our Scotland holiday!”

We booked a room at the Gruline after reading about it in Bon Apetit. Our stay at this charming, 5-star B&B was the best part of our entire Scotland holiday! Superb central location for exploring every corner of the island of Mull. Colin prepares outstanding gourmet breakfasts and dinners---far and above anything else you will ever find on Mull---comparable to the finest Edinburgh eateries. Angela is the consumate hostess, and literally took care of our every need. The other guests during our stay (all Brits) were so kind and entertaining, and we loved dining and sharing tea with them. This is the first vacation we have ever taken during which we didn't get the least bit homesick...and that feeling was all due to the homey atmosphere of the Gruline!
