We stayed here Saturday 11th Feb til Monday 13th Feb 2012 and had a lovely relaxing break.
The hotel had lovely surroundings, the outside could have done with a lick of paint but the room was nice and clean.
The menu in the main restaurant was quite limited but as we were only eating there on one night that wasn't much of a problem. The service was very slow in the main restaurant - it took ages for a waiter to take your order and even longer for your food to arrive but no complaints when it did.
The menu in the bistro provided more variety and the service there was great.
The entertainment area where the pool table and dart boards were was in serious need of upgrade - the sofas were frayed and stained - we did enjoy having the option to use the facilities though.
We did not use the pool area but from what we saw of it there were no problems there.
We did not expect to go and have 5 star service or amenities as it is not a 5 star hotel but it was 4 star - we were happy that our room and the bar area in the hotel were clean and we really enjoyed sitting by the log fires with a drink and a paper - it's what you make it.
