“Great value, lovely B&B, with great self-catering facilities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

We stayed at the B&B in the self-catering cottage on 7th October 2011, prior to a day at the nearby Nick Nairn Cook School.

The cottage, in the back garden, has open plan livingroom / kitchen, separate bedroom (set up as a twin on request) and ensuite bathroom, with outside decking area.

Owners were very friendly and even brought our cooked breakfast (bacon, scrambled eggs, tomato, toast and orange juice) to us in the cottage. Only very minor point - would have appreciated a slightly wider choice for breakfast.

Great value for money, very clean, nicely decorated, great self-catering facilities and lovely location just on the outskirts of the village of Aberfoyle. Wouldn't hesitate to return if in the area, and would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: The self contained cottage in the garden is great, especially for a family or for stays longer than...

“Lovely B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

We stayed in Stoneypark for two days with great value. The en-suite room is clean, spacious, quiet and cosy. The bed is comfortable. We slept well when we stayed in Stoneypark.

Glynnis and Richard are very nice, friendly and hospitable. During breakfast, we talked about the teapot we liked and asked her where we could get one. Glynnis told us to try the department stores in Edinburgh. But, she gave us one when we said goodbye!! We're touched. Thanksssssssssss so much, Glynnis! A lovely lady!

“Just perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

We stayed at this B&B at the beginning of July and absolutely loved it. The room was very clean and nice and the owners were very friendly and welcoming. There is a common living room where we could relax in the evening and feel just like home. The area is very quiet and we had spent a very relaxing night there. It is quite a luxurious B&B so the amount of money we paid was very good value. Breakfast was massive and probably the best and freshest fry-up I have ever seen. I would def come back and stay here again.

“Fabulous place, will definitely return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2011

We started our honeymoon here, stayed for three nights. The proprietors were very pleasant and full of useful advice about where to eat and what sights to see.

The room was beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was huge and very nice with different things being offered.

The setting was lovely under Craigmore and beside Loch Ard. There was a lot to do in the area and we would ahve loved to have stayed longer but they couldn't accommodate us.

“A little piece of paradise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 May 2011

Aberfoyle is beautiful despite the rain! Stoneypark Bed & Breakfast is a 10 minute walk from the main village. We didn't chance walking it cause the time we were there the weather could change on us any second. We originally booked a room in the main house with a shared bathroom. When we arrived we were given a choice to take the self-catering cottage for 10 pounds more per night since they had availability. We were there for two nights. We were thrilled to take the cottage! It provided us with so much space, privacy, peace, quiet and freedom. If the weather cooperated, we could have had some tea or coffee on the front patio with views of the mountains and beautiful yard. The cottage also had a fully-equipped kitchen so you could cook meals if you prefer. The bedroom leads to a master bath. The common area has a half bath and a washer and dryer to use. The living space was very tastefully done! The bed was one of the most comfortable I've had! I slept very well! Richard and Glynnis were very helpful and friendly hosts. They brought us our hot breakfast each morning from the main house. We ran out of orange juice the next day. I gave them the empty box when they delivered us our breakfast on the second day but it was not replaced. We had milk, butter and jam already in the refrigerator. Choice of cereals were provided to us the night we arrived. Sadly our hot breakfast was not very impressive, and our toasts were a bit burnt.

We used the internet quite a bit to update our photos from our trip daily and to send links to our family and friends. It was too bad our internet connection at the cottage was pretty slow and sometimes we couldn't access it at all. We also depended on the internet to check the daily weather. We definitely didn't have wi-fi access. We also couldn't use our on the go phone that we bought in Scotland specifically for this trip cause we had no service. But we were grateful for the amount of time we could have internet access and we took full advantage each time.

Overall, Stoneypark self-catering cottage is awesome (a real gem!) and the price is very reasonable! I would highly recommend it.
