We (me and girlfriend) stayed in this B&B recently for a long weekend, Friday to Monday, and I am delighted to say that it is every bit as good as described in previous reviews.
It is owned by Morag and Phil, a lovely couple who couldn't do anything to make you feel more at home. Morag is the perfect hostess, right from the minute I rang to make the booking she couldn't be more friendly and helpful - she originally couldn't fit us in on the Saturday night, so she took it upon herself to find somewhere else locally for us on the Saturday. In the end someone cancelled so we could stay for Sat as well, which we were pleased about. She has good local knowledge which she seemed genuinely pleased to impart, wonderfully friendly and chatty but not in an intrusive way, she struck the perfect balance between providing entertaining company and leaving you to do your own thing.
The place itself is a lovely house, the building having been converted and extended by Phil, who has a done wonderful job. Its modern and tastefully decorated to a high standard throughout. There are two rooms to chose from, we stayed in both over our weekend and they were both very clean and comfortable (for the info the plus points for each are the downstairs room had a huge bed whilst the upstairs one had a lovely view).
Breakfast was very good, a decent choice from the menu, and served with fresh fruit juices and decent coffee. More importantly Morag made every effort to make sure it was to our liking, offering fruit and oatcakes and changing the timing of the boiled eggs to suit and generally being open to reasonable requests etc. All in all a pleasant way to start the day.
The house is in stunning surroundings as you can expect from the Trossachs, a short walk from the house and your in tranquil isolation. Great for couples. Having said that, it's in easy reach of a couple of restaurants /pubs, being somewhere between Port of Mentieth (with a hotel which has a nice bar overlooking the lake serving good food, Morag was kind enough to provide a 15% discount card and the offer of a lift too) and Aberforyle (with a couple of pubs, one had karaoke on the Sat night when we were there) and it's even taxi-able (circa £20) to Callander which is a bit of a bigger town.
In the car it’s within pretty easy reach of Loch Lomond, Stirling and even Edinburgh (about an hour apparently although we didn't do it), so a pretty good base to explore, but to be honest there's also quite a lot in the immediate surrounding area to see and do too.
If you are looking for a lovely, quiet and friendly place to stay from which to enjoy the beauty and majesty of the area, I couldn't recommend this B&B more.
