My wife and I stayed here as we were attending a wedding at the Parkstone Hotel which was located at the end of the street. We received a very warm welcome from the owner, Marion. Our room was very nice and very clean, which is important to us.
The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. The choice was superb, including fresh fruit.
When we realised that I had brought the wrong shirt to wear to the wedding and my wife had to run out to the local kilt hire shop. Marion was on hand to help iron the shirt when it came out the packet, even although she was on her way out with her own family.
We have visited many countries however we have to say that the welcome and service that Marion provided was one of the best we have ever had.

This is our 3rd time at Firhill and we wouldn't go anywhere else. Marion is a lovely hostess and will go out of her way to make you feel welcome. We have stayed in the double and twin room and both are of excellent quality. They are kept exceptionally clean and tidy with a lovely en suite.
Marion's breakfasts are to die for. You can have cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt, toast and if that doesn't satisfy you, you can have the full Scottish breakfast which consists of egg, sausage, mushrooms, bacon, tomato, potato scones and black pudding.
Absolutely no negatives about Firhill or Marion. She works very hard to make her business a success and she definitely deserves the 5* reviews.

If you're in Ayr or Prestwick it's the best choice, the best location imagineable, great rooms, a nice owner and an excellent breakfast.

The Prestwick area is famous for golf and we now regularly stay at the Firhill. The hospitality is top notch and the breakfast is second to none and tailored to our exact needs (love the black pudding!). The out of hours availability of microwave, fridge, and contents certaintly strike a chord with my golfer son. The room and ensuite is meticulously clean and cleaned daily and the TV/DVD helps us chill out / relax in the evenings. The beds and pillows guaranteed us a rest that prepared us for our gruelling days of work on the golf courses ( the British Boys etc). As my son said to me quote.'' Dad, you and I have travelled to so many places but I am really comfortable here. Shame we can't take all this with us wherever we go''
