Staff were very friendly and accomodating. We were in a very spacious room. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our meal on both evenings. Decent menu. We enjoyed our stay.

the room was first class, and the service was super . hotel was spotless throughout the premises, staff was great , my wife and me had a great time in the hotel even had the family over for a meal that was excellent and great price , and the children loved the kids menu.
all in all great holiday and will do it again soon
and the breakfast was super also

just returned from weekend break at the old racecourse hotel,got a great deal on ebay,room spacious and clean,shower great,food great value for money,staff pleasant but kept very busy so table service pretty slow,my only complaint would be that set menu only has one vegetarian option and since i didnt fancy eating macaroni two nights in a row i had to choose from other menu and pay extra,sunday breakfast was one potato scone ,halftomato and an egg-dissapointing. other than that great stay

My wife and I spent a long weekend here, and hardly ventured outside. The rooms are warm and comroftable, the food is excellent and it has a busy bar with locals and hotel guest both using it.

It is located 5 mins from the town centre in a quiet resedential street so you are not disturbed in the night the same way as some places near busy roads.

I would reccomend to anyone who is looking for a weekend away, or a midweek stay because everything you need is here.
