“Great Holiday!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I stayed at Craig Tara with my friend and we had 6 kids between us and had a great time. We went in April 2011, and the weather was lovely so we spent time at the beach as well. The kids loved the funworks but spent a fortune in there! The mash and barrel was great for food, tho some of the drinks were a bit pricey but thats to be expected. The entertainment at night was good for the younger kids in our group, not as geared up for the teenagers unfortunately. We stayed in a prestige caravan which was clean and not even a 5min walk away from the complex which was great. our boiler did pack in however after we called the reception there was an engineer at the caravan within an hour to fix it. My only gripe was the swimming pool, i had stayed at this park a few times when i was younger (when it was butlins) and the changing facilities are almost exactly the same as when i was there about 20 years ago and are badly in need of upgrading, however the pool itself was great for the kids. We will def go back again at some point!

Room Tip: would def book a caravan with heating as it can get cold with being next to the sea!

“Give it a go we are going back again!!”

Went here last October and have booked again for June this year.

This is a huge park with loads to do and a great base for exploring Ayr.

What I would say is we ensure we book a prestige caravan as these are the best. We have also requested to stay in Gleneagles Close again as the location is perfect and seems quieter - well when we were there :)

If you have any doubts about booking feel free to post me a message. I know we are all different but I really think this place is value for money.

Room Tip: Always book a prestige van if you can afford to.

“great for the kids and to have a cheap break”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

we go here about 3 times a year since it is only an hour drive would say it isn't the greatest place need a lot of up grading and a good clean

we usually get the chalets theses are mostly always clean but sometimes we have seen dampness on the walls but after putting a complained in we where moved

the food isn't the greatest but you'll find something to eat

great entertainment for the kids there is a park there to that the kids love the swimming is good but lot of lockers and changing room locks are broke and there very dirty

if you go here you should go into ayr town center as there is a massive big park there beside the sea

“Wouldn't go back”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

After reading the reviews online after booking I wasn't looking forward to going, Called them to cancel just after booking and spoke to a manager who ensured that she would make sure my stay was great and to give them a go. When we arrived at the park it seemed a bit grubby, did not have to go through the check in process after speaking to the manager, noticed on the key tag that we had been moved caravan to the new caravans ( which I can only assume was because of the phone call). Upon seeing most of the caravans I very happy with the bit we had been put in. The swimming pool was the best thing about the trip, night time entertainment wasn't anything special. Food at park is expensive and tasted horrible, however there is a supermarket withing 5miles. Caravan I stayed in was very clean, this may be because it was new.

The beach was a joke at the park, however found another one about 10min drive away from the park. There is activity farm park just outside the park that was excellent, most of our time was spend driving out of the park to other places as the park was dirty and not much to do. Which cost a bomb in petrol and paying to get in places. Staff were not very friendly.

At night there was the sound of drunken people shouting and swearing, which was not a good atmosphere. My children was woken up by this 3 nights out of 5. On one of the nights the police came to park to remove some of the trouble makers.

Would not go back, would have been as well staying at home and spending the £300 which it cost on days out in my area
