“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel for 2 days last year and check in was quick and friendly.. Our room was spotlessly clean and beautifully deorated. The bathroom had obviously been refurbished and had a great power shower with plenty of hot water! Breakfast was lovely with all the usual selection - well worth getting up for. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was delicious. The menu had plenty of choice for all tastes. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We stayed here as we were attending a family wedding at the hotel the wedding reception was wonderful and the staff bent over backwards to help us and make us feel comfortable, it felt like were at home (only with someone else to do all the work for a change). Our room was lovely, clean and cozy. Breakfast was not rushed, it was freshly prepared to order. In all i would highly recommend a stay here or as a party venue - or both.

“Relaxing and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

Our check in was fast, efficient and friendly. The rooms were clean and comforable with recently refurbished en-suite facilities. The shower was powerful and the water hot. We ate in the hotel on our first night and the food was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was equally good and served in a lovely breakfast room.

The hotel is in the perfect location - to get to the High Street simply turn right on leaving the hotel and at the top of the road turn left and there you are. To get to some very good restaurants, turn left out of the hotel and right at the end of the road and you'll come to Indian, Italian and our restaurant of choice for the second night, the Treehouse (which was great!).

We only ever saw 4 members of staff during our stay and every one was always busy and always friendly.

I will definitely stay here again!

“It grew on use”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2011

We realy liked our room, it was comfortable even though when we booked it the receptionist said it was small it had all we needed and was very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small and when you sat on the toilet it felt as if it was moving. The trouser press did not appear to work so I thought it should have been taken out of the room. The bar area was very nice but no atmosphere. The breakfast room was also fine and we had no complaints about the breakfast at all.

I felt the back entrance which is off the car park good do with freshening up, tI put us off the place a bit as we walked in. The front entrance is fine.

At the top of the stairs was a basket of pot-pourri which gives a bad impression and also along the corridor leading to the bed-rooms dusty silk plants which either needed a wash or throwing out. The windows along the corridor had net curtains up to hide the view of the car-park and the back of the buildings, I think if they got rid of them and put some sort of frosting on the windows it would be much better.

The staff seemed a bit withdrawn at first but towards the end of our stay we warmed more to them. One member though would smoke at the front entrance, which looks bad.

I felt they could do a lot more with the place to bring in extra income. I would stay again if I could not find anywhere better.

Room Tip: Our room was at the front facing the road but not noisy
