“better than beirut !!!!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2005

Well, I arrived unannounced and the lady of the house was really helpful and was quite happy to drive me around the town to find places that would interest me.We had a very enjoyable time at night with the owner...If you didn't then maybe you need to get a life!!!!! Breakfast was very nice and once again the help on booking out was exceptional. My friend had recently stayed in Istanbul and in comparison the Bellsbank was like the Hilton......If you would like a friendly and helpful staff then this is the place to stay and the earlier reviewers should have a look at themselves @!!!!!!!!

“a breath of fresh air!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2005

seeing some reviews of the place, i was dubious at first, but after some deliberation - and word of mouth from a few people - i was helped with my decision by my fiancee.
Well i couldn't have asked for more or i would have been greedy. Due to previous owners giving the place a bit of a reputation, the present owners are meeting the challenge head on. Very friendly, always helpful and can never do enough to help you, and you never feel that they are trying to be nice - they really are a pleasure to be around.
A few of the rooms that i know of have been decorated and looked lovely from what little i saw (i didn't want to get into trouble for being nosey), there is a great view from most of the windows (also not had a chance to experience other rooms, but will do as soon as possible).
The Hotel being where it is, part of the town but still have it's freedom definetly amplifies the serenity and air of calm you need from a weekend break, and the fact that the area is steeped in history and also commonly known as 'Burns Country' which suggests that he had quite a bit to do with the surrounding area.
Highly recomended, and also worth visting in different seasons.

“Can't wait to go back”

The new owners of said hotel are simply marvelous. Very eager to help and always keen to nip any problems in the bud. They have a no nonsense approach to things but are amicable and very friendly. Noise was never a problem even with a family party going on downstairs, and teh Meals were the best i've had in ages! So i ask everyone to reconsider any bad reviews heard due to the change in management.

“new owners make our week”

We spent a week at Bellsbank while in the area on a fishing trip. We were received with great warmth and friendliness. The new owners could not have been more helpful: a freezer was made available for our catch, we were able to dry our gear after a day out in the open, the meals were tailored to our specific needs, ie earlyish departure in the morning, unpredictable returns in the evenings. Our dogs loved the space all around the hill of Bellsbank, and we enjoyed the wonderful views from our bedroom windows. Our bathroom was spacious and new. All round a great week which we shall remember fondly.
