“Relaxing night away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Second time at Enterkine House my wife and I have taken a short notice night away for dinner, bed & breakfast. Got same room as last time, the Mackay. Large and spacious room and bathroom. Very comfortable. Staff very attentive and courteous from minute we arrived just before our dinner reservation time until we left the lounge late evening. Food excellent in evening, breakfast delicious. We both enjoyed the relaxed getaway very much. Will probably return in not too distant future.

“A Curate's Egg”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

We stayed for two nights as part of a wedding party. Staff were friendly, efficient and always ready to help. The wedding service, arrangements and opportunities for photographs equally good. Evening meals were outstanding, especially the post-wedding dinner - complemented by splendid service. So why the curate's egg? If the evening meals and service were so good, they contrasted with sharply with poor breakfasts in terms of quality of food and service. Bedrooms in the main house are good, notably that above the library, in the 'courtyard' they are 'iffy'. Also much of the area surrounding the main house has a run-down, unkempt feel to it and the long driveway to the hotel is pot-holed and gives a poor initial impression.

Room Tip: Make sure you take a room in the main house

“Perfect!”

We had our wedding here in May - everything was perfect from start to finish. Angela, Colin and team were so lovely, super organised and friendly. Many of our guests conplimented us on how delicious the meal was and relaxed a day it was - we would certainly not hesitate to recommend this venue for both food and service in a lovely setting. Thank you Enterkine. X

“First class break with no fuss”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

We booked last minute for this hotel and wanted a 'get away from it all.' We were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly but not intrusive and we were shown to the Mackay room in the main building. The room was lovely, very spacious with stunning views over the gardens and surrounding countryside. We both had one of the most enjoyable fillet steaks for dinner we have ever eaten, Again the views from the huge windows were amazing.. A bottle of wine was reasonable at £21.50.
Breakfast was full scottish and left us full untill dinner time that day. This is a hidden gem and we had no hesitation in recommending it to our friends and family. The only drawback was the road up to the hotel which has some nasty potholes and should really be repaired, take care and drive slowly!!

I highly recommend the Enterkine. I only had dinner there but it was amazing. The staff were extremely helpful and very accomodating. I have a number of allergeries and they did everything they could to accomodate me. A first class service, the meal was delicious, you could not fault the hotel at all. 5 stars!! Can't wait to go back.
