I stayed at this Hotel at the weekend as i had a Christmas Party to attend and i fancied staying over with my colleagues who were also staying here.
Upon entering i dealt with the young man behind the reception who was very pleasant to deal with,
he kept me waiting for ten minutes as their was a problem with Room '205' what unfolded before me was like something straight out of yes you've guessed it 'Fawlty Towers!
The male receptionist suddenly had an onslaught of guests checking in to deal with,
i felt embarrassed for him as his fellow co-workers had more interest in looking at the forthcoming work rota than assisting their fellow colleague,
the two workers were anything but professional, their appearance was anything but presentable, they were anything but pleasant towards myself or any one else checking in, they also swore in front of myself and the other guests who were also privvy to the 'Fawlty Towers-esque' antics!
inbetween dealing with other guests and his uncouth colleagues 'Manuel look alike 'Ivan' appeared on the scene to come and fix the door to '205!
I was eventually beckoned by this non-speaking Eastern European to the room where he spent at least half an hour 'fixing' the door! which involved him hammering and tinkering with tools to fix the door.
Eventually the door was fixed and i unpacked, upon first appearance the room was quite warm and was very tidy, apart from the area containing the TV which has seen better days! One of the bottom drawers was missing which really looked bad,
the facility for making Tea and Coffee was hastily arranged, i was horrified to see that there was no bottled mineral water available to fill the tiny kettle.
the bathroom was clean but apart from the soap their was no other Toiletries available.
The shower was basic and not up to modern standards it was a test of skill to try and not get scalded by the very hot water!
My major concern of the room was whilst i was standing admiring the 'view' of the hustle and bustle of Ayr on saturday night which mostly consisted of drunken Lager louts singing aloud! whilst looking out i felt water dripping on to my head! i couldn't believe my eyes as i looked up their was water leaking from the upper window sill which had a visible crack!
i was horrified to see that the curtains were damp and dis-coloured from dampness! this sight truly unnerved me!
The bed was fresh and clean, but the matress was lously as were the pillows,
Breakfast was barely adequate, but i ate what i could as i was running late,
i would of complained to the staff but why bother? they wouldn't give a damn!
I paid £40 yes £40 to stay here, believe me it's not worth it at all!
the Station 'Hotel' needs a kick up the proverbial backside i wouldn't stay here again if my life depended on it!
