“Hmmm it'll do....at best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We arrived for a weekend booking 2 double rooms, 1 couple in 60's and me, 32 female with my 4 year old daughter. Staff always said hello and we're cheerful. Rooms basic but clean, no bath in bathroom, like to have one for the little one, kettle worked kind of, until the boiling wobbled it and then it went off so
Had to be held to boil. No cbeebies for the little one a the channel broken? Not quite sure how a channel breaks. The beds were so soft you roll into the middle I had to make the sofa bed up as 2 people could not sleep comfortably in the double together. No bacon at breakfast!! Not impressed!!! Fresh juice machine broken giving only watery stuff??! Unable to repair. 1st night, fri, relatively peaceful usual disturbance from slammed doors and v noisy bathroom doors, 2nd night some sort of function was on and loud music kept us awake which would have been lessened had the windows been Of better quality but some hefty drafts came through them! We'd probably stay again if we were up this way again but only if it was £15 per room cheaper!!

“Amazing hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Myself and my partner stayed at the hotel for a short break. Great price, and because it is brand new the hotel is very clean and tidy. The only quibble I would have is I would have liked an actual bathtub in the room too, along with a bigger choice of tV channels in the room. But overall, this wasn't a big sticking point!

Management and staff - including cleaners, who wish you good morning and smile - are very attentive and friendly, at the breakfast is fantastic. Although the restaurant only serves snacks until mid evening, there is a Subway and Frankie and Benny's across the street, a KFC and Pizza Hut a 5 minute walk away, and also a 24hour ASDA 5 minutes away too. Although on the outskirts of Ayr, the hotel is only a 5-10 minute bus journey to Whitletts shops (the 444, 43 stagecoach buses), then a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. Try to avoid taxis if travelling light as they're expensive....(£6.50 from the town centre).

Great hotel. We'll be back.

Room Tip: Rooms on the west side are quieter as these don't face directly on to one of the main roads in t...

“letting slip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

booked into hotel again after been before for night out at ayr race course,
standards have slipped in last 2 years.
your key also acts as your power for the room so after returning from our night out at 1.30am on a very cold frosty december evening our room was cold and by the time we got heat in the room was time to leave.
cleaniness was very poor with nail clippings and hairs in the bathroom and marks on the carpet. no drawer space in room another downside.
