“Paisley buddy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Only stayed one night, arrived late and left early after breakfast.
Difficult to find because of the one way system but found it easily after contacting owners for directions.
First impressions ,thought it needed a little bit of a freshen up, although it was clean enough.
Owners were very welcoming, even though it was after 11pm and restaurant was closed ,they offered to make some toast, which was delicious and greatly appreciated.
Our room was nice and welcoming, good enough size, with double fitted wardrobe, bed looked inviting and was very comfortable. Television was small and had limited chanels and could'nt get it to switch off. The bathroom although was very small was adequate for our brief stay but had we been staying longer it would not have been. As the hotel was fairly empty we could have been offered a bigger room, we expected to be offered the smallest room after reading other reviews about room 3. We felt because we got a discout through booking with laterooms.com that we would be given the most basic of rooms which we felt we were. It would have been a pleasant surprise to have been given one of the bigger double rooms but alas wasn't to be. We still enjoyed our brief stay. The breafast in the morning was of a good standard..juice,cereal fresh fruit yogurt and a full cooked breakfast which was delicious and set us up for the day. The staff were very helpfull and accomodating. I think we would stay there again.

Room Tip: Room three has an incredible small bathroom, so if you have a choice opt for another room.

“Friendly but rough around the edges”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Had a nice stay but a couple of things were a bit annoying. We saw a breakfast menu on a table outside our room which offered loads of options. When we arrived for breakfast we were basically told they had a full cooked breakfast and not given a menu or any other options. The house is lovely to stay in and great location just sort out the breakfast arrangement! Plus would benefit from a slightly more formal and organised reception area and not a cluttered office!.

Thanks you are very direct ! Yes you are correct and we will sort out the breakfast menu as you suggested for all days and sorry you were disappointed.
We have just moved the office to its current location so it is a work in progress, it will become over the next 3 months hopefully a reception area you will enjoy and approve off. We are also in progress with our bi-annual decorate/repair/change etc.
We would be delighted to see you again.

“A hidden gem & excellent scottish breakfast!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

what a beautiful hotel, deceptively large hotel with spacious rooms with comfy quality beds and bathrooms. Full scottish breakfast was so yummy and lots of it to set you up for the day.

Room Tip: loft room very large with dressing room, but steep stairs

“Convenient location, warm and welcoming.”

My teenage daughter and I stayed here when attending an event in The Wynd Centre. The owners were friendly and made us feel very welcome. Our double room was spacious, quiet and warm; the bed comfortable. There was a great shower in the ensuite bathroom and the towels were fluffy! The cooked breakfast was good, especially the sausages. The hotel is in the centre of Paisley so handy for the shops or the airport.

“Ashtree House Hotel”

I'm just back from two weeks in Scotland and would like to report on the Ashtree House Hotel, which is in Paisley, just outside of Glasgow. What an absolutely delightful place! Some might consider it a bit "out of the way" for visiting the city and you do need to take the train from Glasgow Central to get there from town but it was ever so easy -- trains run every 15 minutes or so and the ride is about 10 minutes. The house is a seven minute walk from Paisley Central station. Every evening going back I felt like I was going home. The House itself is a double Georgian townhouse. The proprietors (who are incredibly gracious and accommodating) did a fantastic job turning the house into a hotel. The rooms are spacious with marvelous architectural details intact. My bed was cosy warm with a great duvet. Oh, the breakfasts were great and you can get supper during the week (truly awesome home cooked meals). I would encourage anyone going to Glasgow to consider the Ashtree. It is quite close to Glasgow airport, in fact, to get the airport bus you go out of Paisley.
