“Time to relax with great views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

We stayed at the Beinn-a-ghlo cabin for 4 nights (30/01-03/02/12) and could not fault the accommodation. The woodburner was a nice feature in the lodge. The kitchen was very well equipped and overall very clean! and nothing beats sitting in the hot tub at night watching the stars twinkle in the night sky - would def recommend the lodges for anyone wanting a chilled relaxed few days away x

“Home from home with wonderful views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011 via mobile

All we needed was there plus! Clean, well appointed, quiet location with loads to do in area. We took a land rover safari up into Glen Tilt and then on up a mountain for a picnic lunch. Incredible! Kinnaird is a perfect place for a long or short break.

“Amazing views , great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

We stayed for two weeks at the Ben -y -vrackie lodge, just got back today. The views from the lodge are amazing, we were lucky to have many sunny days in the past weeks . The owners live close by and to everything to maintain the property in a perfect way : landscaping, painting etc. In our cabin we found everything as advertised. Nice to notice that the silverware and cups and plates etc. were in ample supply and matching ! Too often , it seems, when grandma all the leftover stuff goes into self catering property, but not at Kinnaird House . The only negative thing is that there are not enough hooks to hang your clothes or towel on in the bathroom. This seems to be a anglo-saxon thing : last year in Ireland we noticed that in 2 self catering houses as well. Simple solution, we took some suction hooks with us.
The lodge as such was clean, furniture and beds were comfortable and when the dvd player did not function, I called and within an hour is was replaced.
The only slightly downside is the 1 pound electricity meter . On one hand does it make you more energy concience but when it gets cold the cabin cools down quickly and those electric heaters work real well but love the pounds. As mentioned before we had good weather and used the heating only on two nights, all in all, with three people we used about 3 pounds a day ( showering, home cooking, TV, laptop etc.)
If you like walking, then go down to Moulin, appr. 15 minute walk to the Moulin Inn, nice pub and terrific food.
Pitlochry is a good location to see a lot of Scotland , in about 1- 1,5 hours you are in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, the Highlands etc. . The vicinity close by is well worth exploring too, some nice hikes/walks in Bruar Falls, Killicarney Pass and around the loch near Pitlochry.
In town are enough stores, a supermarket and good restaurants. All in all, great vacation in a great lodge !

“Beautiful Lodges, great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

We had an absolutely fantastic weekend away at Kinnaird woodland lodges and stayed in the Schiehallion Lodge. We absolutely loved the lodge and the hot tub! The sun loungers were also much appreciated which were provided as an extra wee piece of luxury given the sun was out for a wee change!
The lodge itself was so comfortable, clean and relaxing to stay in. It was a lovely, warm weekend so we didn't get a chance to use the wood burning stove, but will definitely look forward to that the next time. Everything we needed was provided in terms of cleaning, cooking and towels and linen.
The location is excellent as its a lovely walk down to Pitlochry and to wander round there, and we also climbed Ben y Vrackie which was hard work but absolutley breath taking - we also appreciated the hot tub for our aching muscles after that!
We have come back with a bit of a glow and completely relaxed – just wish we could have stayed the full week! Also, we appreciated the earlier check in so we could make the most of it.. thanks for accommodating us. Thanks again Andy and Jane for a lovely few days... we will be back! Donna Green.

“A Good Stay indeed with Many Thumbs up but a few 'buts' ..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2011

I stayed over with my spouse , Cousins and Sister in law on the last long weekend in April . A good stay indeed as the location is very good , inspite of being in the city , its still way out of it . We stayed at Ben y Vrackie lodges and it was one beautiful place , with very good views and a patio with beautiful reclining chairs to relax and enjoy . The owners were very genetous to have provided us with good quantity of wooden logs as well and we enjoyed the fireplace , my wife loved it.

A very well equipped kitchen and there are more than what you need utensils and thats very useful as different group of people use different utensils , kudos to that as well.

A few Buts -
1 - The owners never came to greet us , may be its the way to not disturb the guests unless they call you, but we had no issues so I will knock that of as being a negative.Though a 'Hi' from the hosts is never frowned at , all my previous cottage owners gave us a visit sometime during our stay.

2 - £10 of topup in the electicity meter turned out to be a little less as everything there runs on electricity and that too all are powerful gadgets eating up a lot of units .I payed 375£ and had to top up additional of total 10-15£ , when we used to come back at 9-10 PM everyday except for the last day when we stayed longer in the cottage and used the fireplace.

3 - There was just one bathroom so that was a bottleneck in getting ready in the morning for 5 people ( the cottage is for 4, so even for 4) .

4 - No Wi-fi / Internet facility .

5 - A bit expensive at £375 for 3 nights .

But had no issues with my stay in the Cottage, no issues with the Car parking - ample space , good documentation for everything you want and need in the cottage. The owners have put in their numbers in as many places as poosible , so they must be reachable. The Lodge was very clean and nicely done , we were provided extra douvet , towels for everyone .

Overall a place where you can stay and relax , make it a base , go around and come back but a little pricey .
