We stayed at the Atholl Arms hotel recently and received a warm welcome. The staff were helpful and friendly. The faded grandeur of the hotel certainly has charm but the mass of fake flowers covering every available surface really have to go - or at least be dusted. The food in the pub was OK but I would avoid the seafood pasta and the fish and chips! Our room was small which is OK but it was absolutely boiling with no way of turning down the radiator. We had to open the window during the night to allow for air. The carpet had seen better days and the whole room was really dusty, The bathroom was clean but the ancient shower made a bit of a racket. I really was expecting a little more from this hotel - it just felt like it needed a good scrub.
