“Worst nights sleep ever!!!”

We stayed in the Hotel as it suited us whilst visiting family locally. We were booked into the family suite - the main bedroom was very cramped, lumpy bed noisy springs, heating system banged through the night. Very cold single glazed window with lightweight curtain. The tea making fascilities were placed on a loose corner shelf - totally unsuitable and very unsafe with cables dangling - potential for a small child to pull a boiled kettle over!!!! Did not enjoy the fact there were nails sticking out of the wall possibly from where picturs once hung.. One of the twin beds had a t.v on a bracket mounted to the wall placed directly above the pillow area - definately made me feel nervous. The shower room had dead flies on the floor (in november) Splash marks all over the shower enclosure - definately lwanted a good clean. There was nowhere to hang towels and no shelf for toiletries. On the upside breakfast was good with a decent selection. Overall I would never recommend this hotel to anyone in it's current condition.

“Overpriced”

Oh dear.......it started so well. The Inn is just off the A9 and we could park no problem. Looks ok from the outside. The Man at reception was very nice - not the owner we don't think! The rooms were basic - the bathroom was clean though. The carpet was manky and the electrics are a bit out of the ark. Real problem is the general building....on our hall the wall had a massive open hole which is meant to have a board that fits into it - it didn't which meant it was exposed - floorboards, pipework etc....dangerous! One of the hallway doors was splattered with what i hope was tomato sauce! The food was fine....we had an evening meal and breakfast. The wi-fi was very slow. It is not worth 70.00 a night....you can stay at malmaison in glasgow for 100.00 and the comparison is stark!!

“Food in the restaurant was excellent.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2010

We did not stay in the hotel, however, the food came highly recommended by others staying in the same venue. Can I just say that the food was excellent. We were accommodated well with our starters. We asked for the spring rolls and king prawns to presented for us to share which chef did. My husband had a mixed grill which he thoroughly enjoyed, and his only complaint was that he struggled to finish it.......but he did finish it. I had a lovely dish of smoked haddock. Again the portion was huge, but i did finish it. Both meals were delicious and the cost good considering the portion size.

Would certainly recommend the food

“Needs a clean - not worth 70 Quid”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2010

Room was large and spacious - needed a really good dust and clean up. The noise from the kitchen/ shower next door was horrendous but luckily was not on long.

The rest of the place is in dire need of a lick of paint and a bit of TLC.

Because of the cleanliness we did not dare stay for dinner and went to an excellent place nearby. Our fears were confirmed at breakfast - chipped bowls and mugs, dirty place servings etc all in keeping with the general ambiance.

I would expect this standard for a 30 - 40 pound room - not £70 per night..... well overpriced!!
