Carra Beag is a lovely old house situated on a hill in Pitlochry. The staff were friendly and the lounge was warm and cozy.
Things we liked:
Staff.
Near the center of Pitlochry...although quite a few steps to get down to the main street. May not be good for anyone with mobility issues.
Breakfast was quite good...with a decent selection.
Port and chocolates in the lounge in the evening were a nice touch.
Thinks we didn't like:
Two flights of stairs...the top flight being very narrow and steep.
Small room with two adequate beds...had to stack luggage on floor.
Bedroom in the eaves, so not only small but had to duck your head.
No WiFi in rooms...only available in the lounge.
Mold around windows and on curtains in the bathroom.
As this is the only B&B we've ever stayed at in Pitlochry I'm not sure how it stacks up to the other ones. We paid 55 pounds per night for a very small twin room.
Room Tip: If you have trouble with stairs do not get a room on the top floor.
