Stumbled over this B+B while searching for a premises which could provide several single rooms for just one night. An earlier phone call to Visit Scotland reconfirmed that they are still less than useless so it was pleasant to deal with Marleen and negotiate a price for single occupancy which allowed the group to be under one roof.
I can reconfirm the previous complimentary entries and without wanting to destroy the surprise would add that the breakfasts are incredible both for amount and quality. I`m surprised no one else has commented on this.

We were made welcome and space given to safely park our bicycles. We were then greeted with tea in the sitting room and when we asked about laundry the host insisted we leave it with her.

The hotel is beautiful and clearly a family home where everything is cared for inside and out. Marlene keeps a very clean house and Colin must be very proud of his wonderfully manicured lawn.

The hosts were always on hand to give help or advice. The breakfast choice was excellent and very good. The room itself was very good and we could not have asked for more.

We stayed for 1 night in Buttonboss Lodge. It's a lovely Victorian villa with loads of traditional charm and original features. We were made very welcome straight away with the owner's offer of tea/coffee on arrival, which we enjoyed in the sitting room. We were also offered more tea even a few hours after we had checked out! Rooms were comfortable and had TVs. We had 2 rooms, one with a clean, modern en-suite and the single room had exclusive use of a separate bathroom just down the hall. Good off-street parking, which the owners let us use after we had checked out. Beautifully kept grounds with table and chairs for outdoor dining (we just needed the right weather!). Fantastic location, directly opposite tourist info centre so really easy to find, also could walk to all shops and restaurants. Even though on main street, no noise at night. Lovely breakfast too, we especially appreciated the later available time of 9.30!
