“Homely, spotless, comfortable, convenient !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We have stayed here at Kathy and Dave's Guest House several times and always enjoy the whole experience. A warm welcome, delicious breakfasts, comfortable room and the perfect place to stay. Walking, hiking, sightseeing, shopping and the theatre are all nearby. Local pubs and stunning scenery all make the journey so worthwhile. We shall be there again at the end of March this year... cant wait !! Thank you Kathy and Dave ('Chips') for always making it such a memorable time.

“Warm and very comfortable”

We loved staying at Tir Aluinn for a few nights in August. We spent our days out hiking or on long cycle rides so it was great to come back to the b&B for a good night's sleep at the end of the day. Beds were comfy and rooms warm and very clean. Breakfasts were very good and Kathy's porridge was lovely! Location great and good views all round. Very welcoming & friendly hosts who also have a lounge area for guests. We were leaving early on the last day so missed breakfast - so Kathy made us a lovely packed lunch - another sign of a b&b that is cut above the rest. Excellent value for money too.

“This is the place to stay in Pitlochry”

Wow, what a great choice we made!! We stayed with Dave and Kathy in mid November for two nights. Our party consisted of three couples, including my mother and father. We were all immediately made to feel at home by Dave's warm welcome and tour of the house. After hiking to Edruadour and grabbing some dinner in Moulin, we came back to meet Dave's better half. Dave and Kathy are the ideal B&B hosts. Entertaining, gracious, and seemingly mind reading our every need. If we even thought of something, Kathy produced it. By breakfast time on our first morning, Kathy was referring to my parents as Mom and Dad. Talk about making everyone feel at home!! And speaking of breakfast, it was consistently delicious and fresh. The rooms were spacious and spotless, and the B&B commands a lovely view out over the town and the valley. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tir Aluinn, and our two days in Pitlochry. I think the ultimate compliment is that all six of us departed with two new friends in our lives!! Thanks Dave and Kathy, we hope to see you again, whether in Pitlochry, or in Atlanta for that road trip to Nashville!

“Pitlochry perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

We stayed at Tir Aluinn for one night, in order to attend the musical version of Whisky Galore at the Festival Theatre. What a treasure of a guest house, with very friendly and helpful hosts, Kathy and Dave. We arrived later than planned, as we had missed a train connection in Glasgow, and Kathy came out to greet us when we reached the house, making us feel very welcome straight away. The bedroom was large, bright, and very nicely furnished, with extremely comfortable beds, and the shower room was warm, with full-size toiletries such as shampoo, shower gel, and handwash, and lovely fluffy towels. Breakfast choice was fantastic, offering a complete range of cereals, fruit, cheeses, oatcakes, yoghurts and / or porridge, with the highlight being a beautifully cooked full Scottish breakfast, with eggs from Tir Aluinn's own hens. We're already looking forward to our next visit! Thank you for a lovely stay.

“Lovely welcoming and friendly B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

The Tir Aluninn is a lovely B&B and I would highly recommend it.
I stayed here for 2 nights and the owner couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. I was feeling ill while I was here and had the start of the flu and the owner kept saying that I was welcome to go and get food and bring it back or that I could stay in all day and use the lounge if I didn't feel like exploring. I also didn't eat breakfast while I was here as I was feeling so bad and didn't really want to get up in the morning and on the day I left I was giving a big pack lunch to take with me to make up for missing breakfast and so much care and consideration had been put into it, There really isn't anything worse than being ill while you are away but this b&b felt like a home away from home. On top of this it was comfortable well furnished and the room had lots of attention to detail including shower gel and shampoo as well as tissues coffee's teas and lovely biscuits. The room was cleaned while I was there even though I was only there for two nights. This place really does stand out it is extremely good value for money and you can tell the people running it are definitely in the right business.
