“Well worth the extra money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

There are loads of hotels and B&B's in Elgin, if you want to ensure that you have a good nights sleep and an excellent breakfast in clean modern surroundings then there is only one place to stay and this is it. I have stayed in other Elgin hotels, including the Eight Acres, there a night of my life I will never get back, and none of them are a patch on this. Only downside is the price, I don't pay my company does and the lack a gym. Can't comment on food or drink prices as i always head off up town in Elgin where there is plenty of choice to suit all tastes and budgets.

Room Tip: Ask for superior rom which are v.modern and well equipped.

“Elgin oil!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

Nice hotel with luxurious bedroom if rather pricey for what it is.
Had eaten elsewhere so no comment on the evening fare, though breakfast was decent.
main shocker though was the £4.20 for a lager at the bar! Taking the rip there, I fear. And with such bar prices, disappointing to see reception and waiting staff cover the bar as and when they could.
Scope for improvement.

“Perfect base for Whisky Trail”

The room was perfect and spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and helpful, the food was delicious. A great base for "doing" the Whisky Trail. The nicest hotel we've stayed in for a long time. Will certainly stay again if we are in the area.

“Excellent value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

I have used this hotel over a period of years while on business in Elgin.

easy to locate with excellent parking facilities the hotel offers in my view good value for money with comfortable rooms in both the older part of the hotel and a modern extension where the superior rooms are situated.

The hotel offers restaurant dining or more informal eating at a brasserie which forms part of the hotel and known as Mezzo Bar.

Breakfasts are always very good and the staff are friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit if you plan a trip to this beautiful part of Scotland.

Room Tip: Ask for a superior room if you want that bit of extra space and comfort

“comfortable rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2011

I stayed three nights for a business trip. My first time in Elgin which was a bigger town than I had expected. I walked to the hotel from the train station - it was only a five minute walk and very easy to find. There is a new large carpark at the hotel though so if driving there would be no issue with getting a space. My room was larger than the usual double and the bathroom was fresh and modern - excellent and powerful shower. Good quality shampoo and soap supplied, bottled water in the fridge and plenty of tea/coffee/biscuits too. They also supplied a bathrobe, my only grumble was the hairdryer. It was so low in power my long hair took ages to dry. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked fresh which I liked - no eggs sitting in a bath of grease keeping warm. I ate in the bistro which again was freshly cooked food and not overly expensive. I enjoyed a tour of Johnstone's of Elgin and their shop was good value too.
