A gem in the heart of Elgin will go again ,, the staff were friendly from the start,the food was excelent and the bed was ,,,, well what can i say but magic

I just spent three nights in the Laichmoray Hotel in Elgin, while on a hiking trip to Scotland. While it is likely that in the vicinity there are cheaper structures or with larger rooms (I was in number 16 which was rather small - especially the bathroom), the Laichmoray hotel had that little bit of everything I need that made my stay enjoyable. I wish to commend in particular the staff's friendliness and readiness to bend over backwards to fulfil any request as well as the excellent restaurant.

Stayed Friday and Saturday night, clean well appointed hotel. Nice lounge and restaurant areas, very good food, excellent breakfasts. The staff were extremely polite, pleasant and helpful, full marks to them. The only down side for us was that our double room was very small, so small there was only room for one bedside table. The shower room was a narrow sliver with a shower that was more like a trickle. On the positive side it was completely noise free and the furnishings were obviously quite new. We got the impression that the hotel was about 1/3 occupied and with 50 or so rooms why were we in this tiny room in a dingy backstairs corridor? Enough of the moan, thoroughly recommend this hotel - just ask for a reasonalbe sized room.

The Laichmoray is not fancy, but is clean, comfortable and has a very friendly staff. Our room was nice, with large windows. The town center is an easy walk and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was included in our rate. There is a cold table with cereals and yogurts and they will also cook you something from the menu. Our breakfast was good.
