We stayed in this hotel when going to a function in a nearby hotel. We chose it because it has a lesuire centre and pool. We particularly enjoyed being in the hot tub outside when the temp was about -4c! Our room was massive with beautiful sea views and the bathroom being nearly the same size. The bar is very cosy and has a ;lovely conservatory attached. Breakfast was delicious - and I loved being served it at the table - its been ages since Ive been at a holtel that isn't buffet breakfast. All the staff we encountered were very chatty. I loved this hotel and would go back again. It is fantastic value for money.

Room Tip: Room 8 was great - massive

Dear Guest

Thank you very much for sharing such a glowing review following your recent stay here at the Golf View. I am delighted to read that it appears we met and perhaps even exceeded your expectations, and this is exactly what my team and I strive to do for all of our guests here at the hotel. Our outdoor hot tub has proved to be an extremely popular addition to our already well equipped leisure facility, and indeed at all time of the year, even in the midst of winter, it is a truly relaxing and refreshing experience. Without a doubt our front sea facing rooms truly do come with the additional external wow factor, which makes them very popular with guests all year round. Our brekfast offering as you mention is indeed plated, which offers a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes, all cooked to order to continue the theme of that personalised touch. I am blessed to have a great team delivering true Scottish hospitality and they are extremely grateful for your comments, which have been shared with all of them. We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the future, and again, I thank you for your comments

Kind Regards
Iain Fraser

“Fantastic.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

My husband and I came home after a short break at Golf View today. What a lovely, friendly hotel. The service was great, the staff were so helpful and the food was fabulous we are already looking at booking to go again soon. The facilities are as described, our room was lovely though we did spy a four poster bedroom which we will try next time.
We stayed B&B and recommend eating in the conservatory, the set menu is ok but there is far more choice with the alternative menu, not overly expensive more worth every penny.

“Hope you like the set menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This hotel is fantastic but let down by the menu.

The staff are very freindly and helpful the rooms are great and the pool is fine.

BUT don't like the offering on the set menu they charge though the nose. We were on a DBB basis and I would have liked something for the alternative menu. They would have charged a supplement for a simple sirloin steak of £11.95 I had already effectively paid £30.00 for dinner based on a comparison with the B&B rate. THis is not accepable, they have to have the food on the "Bistro in the Restaurant" menu available for B&B guests or "walk-ins" anyway

I am delighted that on the whole we met your expectations and that you enjoyed your stay. I am blessed to have an extremely dedicated and professional team here at the hotel and they will be delighted to read your positive comments.
With regards to the menu, I will ensure that your feedback is passed on. Menus and choice is something I know that alot of consideration and time has gone into recently and this will be a major focus as we move into the spring season.

“Excellent Short Break in January”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We had always looked forward to a Short Break at the Golf View Hotel and managed to achieve this a few weeks ago. We were not disappointed.Everything about this Hotel was excellent. The Food,The Rooms,The Spa facilities,th SwimmingPool which looked over the Moray Firth, andthe Staff were first class. It was well worth the Long Drive. I rate this Hotel 10/10.

“Left early”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012 via mobile

My partner and I had just got engaged and decided to celebrate by having a weekend away. Unfortunately our celebration was short-lived at the Golf View. Our room was a great size, however very cold and the windows are definitely needing upgraded as the noise of the wind kept us awake most of the night. We went down for dinner with approximately another 10 people in the restaurant and were told there were not enough menus for everyone so we had to share and we would be in a queue to get another one. This second menu never appeared as we watched other tables receive their second one from the queue!!! Ridiculous for any restaurant mind as well as supposed 4 star! We booked the hotel due to the seafood menu but were unfortunately told that there were no lobsters and there wouldn't be any all weekend, strange when the hotel is located right on the water! We then sat with our empty dinner plates for about 30 minutes each course whilst the waitress staff either chatted to each other or set-up for breakfast, extremely rude when we were eating dinner next to these tables. The food was lovely but the menu and service spoiled the evening for us. After this we decided that the hotel was not for us as we were suppose to be celebrating not becoming frustrated and annoyed by the quality of the hotel. We proceeded to reception to tell them we would be checking out early. The receptionist called the manager who tried to convince us to stay, offering us a nicer room the next night but we were fed up by this time. We went to swimming pool in the morning as we had a treatment from the spa in on our deal, this was lovely but the jacuzzi was out of action, so disappointing again. All in all we were glad to leave, but the disappointment continued as when leaving the receptionist told us that the manager had been hoping to speak to us but had to leave to go on holiday but would contact us to offer us a 2 night complimentary stay to show us how the hotel could be different from the experience we had had. We thought that this was a kind gesture and thought we would give the hotel and second chance. However, not surprisingly we have never heard from the manager. Just a token gesture that was never followed up. Spoiled our engagement celebration, but we will always remember, unfortunately not for good reasons!!

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your stay last December, here at the Golf View. Obviously I am extremely disappointed that your stay was cut short and that your feedback was never followed up by the hotel manager. I have recently taken over as General Manager, and the issues you have identified have been addressed and I can assure you this is not reflecitve of the standards we are operating to now. I am in the process of recruiting a new senior team who share my passion and vision for service excellence, and I would be delighted if you would contact me directly at the hotel in order for me to make wrongs right and hopefully convince you to return, and experience the Golf View as you should have done in December. I look forward to hearing from you, again my apologies for the service shortfalls you experienced.

Kind Regards
