Stayed 2 nights at the Boath House hotel in Scotland. Had room 6 which is a small cottage with lounge and bathroom and shower room. Stunning. Johnny called me a couple of hours before we arrived to check I was on my way and happy with directions etc and asked if I'd like him to get the log burner going for me... Yes was the answer and when we arrived, the only guests that day, the room was snuggly warm. Check in was quick and friendly and Johnny took us to the ottage and showed us around. Parked the car by the cottage so that was handy. More logs were delivered later. Dinner is served between 7 and 7:30 with canapés in the lounge and a drink and then the full 7 course dinner. This was a point of concern to us as, being a big foodie, I usually like a menu and a choice. You can request changes if the menu doesn't suit but we opted for the menu as offered and were not disappointed. Being the only gusts on the Friday we felt very special with our own waiter and waitress and chef etc. I've noted that someone mentioned that the lack of music in the dining room meant it was too quiet. Half way through our meal we were asked if we wanted music (as we were the only guests) but we said no thanks as we were chatting Way and music wasn't needed. The 2nd night was busier and so music would have got in the way anyway. The Boath House is fantastic and we will return, it's not cheap but then, who want cheap! Our package included the full 7 course menu, bed and breakfast and champagne and chockies on arrival... Very nice and that you Johnny and all the staff who made it such a warm, welcoming and special 2 nights... By the way the road from Nairn across country to aviemore is amazing. Take your best car with you for twisting roads!
