“Good stay”

We had a good and enjoyable stay at this guesthouse. The full breakfast was very tasty (+ home-made jam) and we enjoyed very much chatting with the host who had a leaflet for _everything_ you can do in scotland ready by hand :)
We had the twin room which had a "lean out of the window and look left"-view of the Loch but everything else was just fine (comfortable beds, cleaning facilities, tea and shortbread).
Would stay there again.

“Great views - shame about breakfast.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2010

Had an overnight stay at Lochview House last month and whilst the location and views over Loch Linnhe were stunning, breakfast was a little disappointing. I had chosen scrambled egg with smoked salmon and wished afterwards that I'd had the full Scottish, as the scrambled egg was solid and the smoked salmon the size of a postage stamp. Whilst the landlord was very affable and friendly, his wife wasn't, and when it came to paying the bill, it felt as though I were being interrogated, as she wanted to know where we were travelling to (Skye) and how we were getting there (ferry). Afterwards, I wondered if she needed to know in case we had stolen anything from the room! I don't wish to be too negative, but this was the least pleasant of all the B. & B.'s we stayed in on our tour. (Twelve in all).

“Beutiful views and a warm welcome!!”

My husband and I spent a week at Lochview house last summer. We were welcomed in to the home like family. We had never been in the area before, so they spent a bit of time with us telling us the highlights of the area. They also had a large amount of literature on the area. Breakfast was incredible. There was a nice selection to choose from, including homemade preserves. The rooms were very clean and had a lovely view of the loch. I would highly recommend this guest house! Thanks again for a fabulous time.

“comfortable and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2009

We stayed in Fort William whilst walking up Ben Nevis. Lochview was a comfortable and welcoming guest house. The guesthouse was equipped with the basic items required for a pleasant stay. The views of the lock and mountains from the rooms at the front of the guesthouse were stunning and the guesthouse is a short walk from the town centre.

The owners were friendly and helpful.

This is a pleasant guesthouse is reasonably priced and an ideal base for a walking trip.

“it was ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2009

This place is ok, it was very clean, very high up a steep hill, the greeting was ok, but more of a business greeting than a welcome. The food was nice, just wish there was a little more of it. The person on the next table for breakfast had scrambled egg, just about a table spoon, definately no more! The jam & marmalade was limited to a spoonful in a little dish.

The bathroom was compact and bijou with a lower end soap and shampoo supplied in a tiny sachet.

The view from the room was pretty awesome

It was ok

We were disapointed drummer 18 found us "just ok"
We offer a multi choice breakfast menu and scrambled egg is always a 2 egg portion. The preserves are home made and the portions on the table reflect that over 50% of our guests do not partake of the jam and marmalade - guests need only ask for more! The soap and shampoo sachet are the thistle range which we consider approprate and in addition all rooms have a soap dispenser.
We value our guests and many are repeat customers.
We are a small guest House with high standards and are sorry drummer18 finds he cannot recommend us.
