When we drove in to the carpark and saw the rooms overlooking the carpark, I knew one of these would be ours. We had booked via booking.com and therefore know that the cheaper rate usualky means no view. Neither has it meant dingy room until now. The room was completely devoid of character and had three single beds, a large, old fashioned TV and a bathroom that has not been updated since the 60's or 70's. There wasn't even a chair! I was appalled at the quality (the lack thereof) and the price £129. it was the worst and most expensive room of our trip. My husband went straight back to reception and complained. Fortunately for us, the hotel had had a cancellation and we were upgraded. The new room was much more satisfactory and more reflective of the price. We were happy with the new room but unfortunately first impressions tend to stick.
The breakfast was excellent and had everthing you could wish for.
I still believe that this is an average hotel despite breakfast bringing it up a notch. I'd try somewhere else next time.
