“Just lovely!”

We stayed at the Grange for one night as we travelled through Scotland. When we arrived Joan served us tea in the lovely cosy lounge - open fire, silver teapot, lovely china and home made shortbread - such a treat! We stayed in the Turret Room which was lovely and decorated to a very high standard! It felt very homely with beautiful finishing touches.
Breakfast was really nice with plenty to choose from on the menu. The only small issue is that you have to place your order the night before and I don't always know what I will feel like eating the following day.
The Grange is a beautiful house and the owner Joan is very welcoming! I would really recommend it if you need somewhere to stay in Fort William!!

“A haven of luxury”

Staying at the Grange was one of the highlights of our holiday. It was the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. The house was beautifully furnished with delightfully whimsical touches. The porridge with whiskey was a nice gourmet treat and not to be missed. Joan was very warm and welcoming and the other guests were a delight to meet.

The area around Fort William was fascinating to explore and I only wished we had more time there.

“First Class”

This is truely a 5 star guest house. Everything is just perfect from the first welcome by Joan with a cup of tea served in the cosy lounge - silver service of course.
We stayed in The Turrent, a beautiful room with superb views and luxury en-suite bathroom. All the little thoughtful touches make such a difference like the small decanter of sherry in the bedroom and the luxury toiletries and cotton balls in the bathroom.
I take sweetner in my coffee and find this is very rarely provided without having to ask and then it's presented in the usual container. Joan had already thought of this and there they were in the little silver server along with miniature serving tongs.
Breakfast again we couldn't find fault with. Love the porridge but resisted the measure of whisky that went with it.
Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for accommodation in Fort William.

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely.

“A great place to stay”

We loved our stay at The Grange and cannot recommend it highly enough. We arrived at Fort William in the morning by sleeper train and even though our room was not quite ready, Joan made us really welcome with coffee and homemade shortbread. Being slighly higher on the hillside than other guest houses in the immediate area means that The Grange is not only in a quieter spot, but the views across the loch are wonderful! We had the Turret Room -spacious, very well appointed and with a huge bathroom The breakfast menu choices are lovely. All in all it's a charming place to stay.

Room Tip: The Grange only has three rooms - all lovely. Take a look at the excellent website.

“A Luxurious Treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

This was our first trip to Joan and John's home, and we were extremely pleased with every aspect of our visit. The house is beautiful and all rooms overlook the Loch. We stayed in the Garden room which had sumptuous decor, lots of 'soft' and cosy furnishings and a fantastic Villeroy and Boch bath which more than satisfied four very tired legs after a tug up and down the 'Benn'. Friendly, welcoming, exceptionally clean, comfortable, warm, excellent position to the centre (about a 10 minute walk). Great shortbread (made by Joan's Mum apparently).
