“Appalling Service”

We stayed here for 1 night in August 2011, we had not pre-booked and unfortunately we drove past many other hotels and B&Bs before we stopped here for it's central location. We were asked to pay on arrival at the hotel for our room. £120 for my husband and I B&B plus a travel cot for our baby. We were given a room at the top of the hotel, no lift. The room itself was very small, even before they squeezed in the cot. We had a lovely view of a flat roof and fire escape from our window. The bathroom was so small that only 1 of us could get in at a time. We had to push the toilet flush handle if we wanted to put down the lid on the toilet, But we were only staying 1 night so we were prepared to overlook these issues. We went down to the bar for a late lunch. The food was terrible. We had to store our baby's buggy in a back room off the dining room as an alternative to carrying it up several flights of stairs. The reception staff were helpful in this. The following morning we went down for breakfast, very poor quality & there was nothing we could give our baby but luckily there was a tesco nearby... The real problem began when we got back to our room and discovered we had no hot water. I called reception and was told there was no hot water available. I asked for the manager who said it was a boiler problem and they could send up a small amount of hot water. I needed to bath my baby never mind showers for myself and husband. When we were checking out I again asked for the manager and told him how utterly dis-satisfied we were with the fact we had been unable to bathe at £120 per night I asked for a partial refund to reflect this. I was then asked by the manager if i would be complaining to him if the weather was bad, he could no more control the boiler than the weather!!!! He gave me his card and told me to email him. I don't think I have EVER meet a more unprofessional person, and he was the manager. We left utterly disgusted watching other guests being fobbed of by reception.

“ok but lacking something”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

stayed 3 nights in January 2012, given a 2nd floor room, but there are actually 5 flights(small) of stairs to climb as thier is no lift,
the room was nice, good view of the Loch across the road, but you still have to look out over a flat foof and escape barriers.Breakfast, ok, very much a do it yourself affair, so in summer when it's busy expect to queue for the toaster,
Restaurant menu, again ok, small a-la-carte selection, but just about adequate, bar snack menu, curry!! and quite a few to choose from.Would I stay again?
well thiers lots of accomodation in Fort William, so maybe something better could be found for the same price, but for 1 or 2 nights, ok

“Un-Expected with a classy finish!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We booked here as a last minute decision with nowhere pre-booked in Fort William. For a great price of only £65.00 inc breakfast, it was great. Location was fantastic close to all amenities. Morrisons close by which is also really handy! Staff were very pleasent and happy to help in anyway. The hotel was very clean, the ensuite bathroom was massive!! The rooms pretty spacious. We also got a lovely scenic view over the loch which we didnt ask for which was lovely to wakw up to. Breakfast was also lovely, All around a fantastic stay shall most definately return!

“Nice hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

Stayed 1 night end of Sept. Great location overlooking Loch Linnhe some rooms. Food fine & staff great. Central location about 400 yards from railway station. Small-ish hotel.

Room Tip: Obviously ask for a room with a view but we were faced the street and it was fine.

“X-mas party night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

Attended works Christmas party night 17th December at the Imperial hotel. I must say that it was a pleasant surprise to see the effort that had been made to ensure that it was a superb night. Bubbly on arrival followed by a superb 3 course Christmas meal being a very fussy eater and not liking any of the deserts on the menu I asked for hot chocolate fudge cake and with out any fuss I was giving it.Tribute hot love were very good and we will definitely be returning next year, A big thanks to Rebecca the host and all the staff for the Best party night we have had in a long time =] xx
