Inverlochy Castle is a bit of heaven on earth. Quiet, calming and full of heritage, I would rank this castle hotel as superb in all aspects. The setting is magnificent with lots of trails and woods to explore as well as breathtaking views from the dining rooms and living room. An oversize chess set is on the lawn in summer and provides the opportunity for a very entertaining and unique family chess match. Crochet sets are available as well as games in the family lounge to keep the wee ones happy. Locally, horseback riding and fly fishing excursions can be arranged for the guests. We were traveling with a little boy, and the staff welcomed him warmly, provided for all of his needs and wants and displayed the same impecable service towards the adults. The food was outstanding and I can confidently state that the evening dinner was the very best meal I have ever had anywhere. We have traveled all over the world and stayed in many fine establishments, but nothing has surpassed our total experience at Inverlochy. I cannot wait to go back.

Our hosts at the B&B we were staying at recommended Inverlochy Castle's "High Tea" - we were not disappointed.

The castle and grounds are simply stunning. Staff are most efficient and service is excellent. "High Tea" is a little expensive but the quality is second to none - best china and freshly made scones/cakes etc.

We found this a real treat and look forward to visiting again.

We have just returned from what can only be described as an outstanding stay at Inverlochy Castle Hotel.
Our last stay had been for our Honeymoon almost 25 years ago, so it seemed that a return visit was well overdue and appropriate for this year as we celebrate our silver wedding. It is always a worry making a return visit to somewhere that had left such a marvellous impression all those years ago in case it does not live up to your expectations. It has to be said that our only disappointment was in having left it so long to return! The very high standards of this hotel both in terms of accommodation and in particular cuisine have not changed.
The food on Saturday night was utter perfection. I am almost drooling as I think of the caramelised scallops served as our starter- no amount of superlatives would suffice in describing how good they were. I thought that nothing would surpass that course , yet each coarse delivered the same perfection and we can scarcely remember a meal as good from the first canapé to the last petit four.
I can not recommend this hotel and its wonderful staff highly enough. We will certainly not leave it as long for our next visit!

Just a few days before my 50th birthday in July 2010, we splurged and experienced the wonders of Scottish hospitality at their finest. From the warm welcome to the luxurious linens and seductive Penhaligon's soap and shampoo to the marvelous meals to the verdant vistas, the staff and the weather all came together in perfect harmony to make for one of the most memorable travel experiences ever. We have stayed in other 5-star establishments. While some may match this, none has surpassed it. Our next visit to Scotland will definitely include more time at Inverlochy Castle.
