Don't get me wrong this place is not that bad,as hostels go its pretty average and the double ensuite room that we had was clean and equipped with the basics that you would expect, the bathroom was tiny but functional and as we only stayed there 1 night I cannot comment on the rest of the property as we did not get a chance to use it.
Location wise as its situated in Corpach which is a suburb of Fort William its around 4 miles from Fort William itself with the buses running few and far between so you really need to plan ahead if you intend on going out and about at certain times or meeting deadlines as they stop at quite a early hour as well but this wasnt really a problem for us as we walked/got a taxi in and out.
The only negative thing I can say about this property really is that the man who greeted us at upon arrival who I assume is the owner was very rude and had a terrible attitude,he seemed to have a problem with people in general and acted like he had a grudge against human interaction which surfaced its nasty head a few times when we firstly we arrived earlier than we had anticipated and were told we couldnt check in which was fine but it was the way we were told it and secondly when we asked if there was room for us to stay additional nights,he basically said to us no fully booked you can go now, dismissing us like we were a servant or something, but we don't let things like that get to us and we just remember to avoid staying there again.
All in all if you want cheap, basic accomodation for a night or two whilst in the vicinity of Fort William with easy walking access to the Loch & the Caledonian canal/Neptune staircase then this is a good location but if you want to be in the heart of things and value customer service above other aspects then you may want to consider alternate arrangements.
