“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Stayed for one night in January and got an upgrade to the Kingsclub across the car park from the main hotel (80yrd walk). Very, very impressed! Large, clean, and fresh room. Wee welcome treats on arrival in the room which is a nice touch.
Had evening meal in the Glass House restaurant. The service and food were first class in a lovely calming atmosphere. The breakfast the following day again was first class and complements must be passed to all in kitchen for their efforts- we tend to forget those who work behind the scenes!
All staff members we met could not have been nicer or more helpful, from a travellers point of view that says allot about the establishment that they work in.
Used swimming pool and if you have kids it a real plus point. Hotel is adjacent to Inverness Golf Course so its perfect placed for golfers.

Room Tip: Rooms in the hotel are nice - it realy depends on what you are willing to pay in relation to rooms w...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your guest review. I am delighted to read your were very very impressed with our Kingsclub and Spa. I was glad that you appreciated the attention to detail and the small touches. Dinner in our conservatory a la carte restaurant is a great experience, especially on a Friday and Saturday evenings when we have our resident pianist playing. Breakfast in the kingsclub is also a great experience with the hot breakfast being offered a la carte and time taken to create and present the best breakfast. We have a great breakfast chef. I a proud of all of our team as they all work very hard to try and please every guest and deliver our goal of exceeding expectations.

Kind Regards

“Another wonderfull stay at the Kingsclub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

My wife & I have just returned from what has become our annual tradition, to visit Inverness and to stay at the Kingsclub.

It is our chance to properly relax, recharge the batteries and plan the year ahead. The Kinsgclub is perfect for this. Shame the Whisky people up the road have "Glen Of Tranquility" taken, as it suits the Kingsclub perfectly.

We first stayed when owned as the Inverness Marriott, then several stays at the Kingsmill and now our second visit to the Kingsclub.

Our room, with balcony (604) overlooked the Golf course, was spacious, clean and very comfortable.

We used the Spa ( couples massage ) and the Leisure Club. The Spa was fantastic, my back & shoulders have never felt so good.

The breakfast was fantastic, loved the smoked salmon & smoked haddock. It was enough to keep us going all day. Plenty of choice, though i wasn't too keen on the croissant's, they should be proper size, not bite size.

We didn't use the hotel restaurant as there were a couple restaurants in Inverness we wanted to try.

The best bit though are the staff, always friendly, helpfull and enthusiastic. We were always greeted with a smile and friendly conversation.

In my opinion the difference between a good hotel and a great one, is the staff. You may have the best property in the world, but if the troops aren't happy then the guests won't be either...it may only say 4 star above the door but it's 5 star service.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write a guest review.

I am so glad that you enjoyed yet another great stay at the hotel. I really appreciate your business over the years and look forward to welcoming you back next year. Our associates do really try and deliver the best level of customer service. The Kingsclub is more expensive than the rooms in Kingsmills however is worth it. I am delighted to read that as a couple you enjoyed the "duo" spa massage experience, it is becoming very popular and once you have had that experience you will come back again and again. A real treat.

Haste ye back.

Kind Regards

“Kingsclub - Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We won this stay in the Kingsclub (part of the Kingsmills Hotel) at a charity night. The Kingsclub is in a separate new building accross the car park from the main hotel. Our room was lovely with a large sheltered balcony with table and chairs overlooking the golf course. The room was very clean and well set out with everything you could need, including a very welcome cafetiere and lovely fresh granules, crabtree and evelyn toilettries and a huge bed.

Breakfast in the morning was served in the dining room of the Kingsclub and not in the main hotel. I rarely eat a cooked breakfast but this was freshly made to order and delicious. The gentleman serving us in the morning - he may have been the Kingsclub manager - was truly helpful and efficient and made us feel very welcome.

All in all i would definitely recommend this hotel.

“A comfortable experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

This was our third overnight stay here, and it really is a pleasant experience. It's around 15 minutes walk into Inverness centre so is a great base to operate from - even if you have to take a cab it's only around a fiver.

The staff are good, they're friendly and professional. The rooms do vary, and on one occasion there was a fault with the heating which turned the room and bathroom into a sauna (along with accompanying puddle of water); this should have been picked up by housekeeping, but we were relocated after a conversation with management who were genuinely apologetic. Some rooms are a little old-fashioned, others are huge and lovely, and the beds....book a king and you'll never want to get up in the morning. We recommend this place to friends coming up to visit, and some have stayed in the resort/spa part of the hotel where rooms are considerably more expensive - however, the consensus from them is that the main hotel is nicer and has more of an atmosphere.

There is something about this hotel which just wants to make you come back - it gives the feeling that staff really care about the guests, and the smiles are genuine. Better mention the breakfast: suffice to say you probably won't want lunch!

They offer deals from time to time, so it's worth checking online on the hotel site as we've found you can get better deals direct with them on some occasions.

Room Tip: Speak to the hotel if you can when you book. Some rooms are a littletired, others great.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your guest review and your third stay. I am glad you find the hotel a comfortable experience and do appreciate the hard work that our associates do put in, as they do really care. Whilst we do work with a number of booking agents you will find that the best rate you will be able buy will always be direct.

Look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel.

“Dissapointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We stayed in this Hotel in January 2012. Our room was right through the back through a rabbit warren of corridors and stairs. The room itself was tatty and needed some attention - you could see the bathroom has had many "patch-up" jobs and the shower cabinet needed a good going with a scrubbing brush to get rid of black slimy mould around the seals. Depsite adverstising Sky Sports 1,2,3 & 4 in the bedrooms our outdated tv only had BBC1 and Channel 4 working. To be fair I found the staff very pleasant and professional and we had to test this as none of the lights worked in the room on arrival. We ate in the Restaurant for two nights and it was again, average. The soup of the day was Minestrone from a tin and I would skip desserts althogether - rice pudding was luke warm and rice was not fully cooked, the apple tart tatin had been forgotten about and was in a sorry state when it did arrive and the Chocolate Brownie was cold and missing the promised ice cream from the menu.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback.

Whilst I believe you enjoyed your overall stay, there are elements of your stay I would like to pick up on. We never want any guest to leave us disappointed. If you would be willing, I am happy to do this off-line and please do just contact the hotel on 01463 237166 option 4 and I will pick up with you directly.

Just for clarity all our TV's in the standard rooms do have channels 1- 5 and the sky sports 1,2 & 3. The TV's in classic, deluxe and in our Kingsclub all have full freeview plus skye sports 1- 3. This is 120 + channels in these areas.

I can also ensure you that we never used canned meats or soups. Our talented chefs do create dishes fresh to order daily.

Kind Regards
