Almost two hours for 2 courses to arrive at table is ridiculous, yet that's how long my wife and I waited for service at our evening meal. The food was fine, but the links between the kitchen and the waitresses were hopeless... we weren't the only ones to suffer. Earlier Trip Advisor posts have mentioned this issue, but we had our fingers crossed. The drinks were at least as expensive as Paris, which is ridiculous, and the room was barely warm enough, being plagued by cold drafts. Not a good experience - EAT OUT!!
Breakfast was much better and was piping-hot on our first day (but lukewarm the next) - there was plenty of quantity and variety and self-service meant that we got to eat without reliance on the staff.
On the morning we left, much of the car park was covered in black ice (circa 8.15am on Friday the 20th Jan), yet there was no attempt to spread salt/grit. The reception staff seemed indifferent to the issue and were neither warning guests, nor even placing a warning sign at the door.
Our room was small, but ok, apart from shabby furniture and some grimy corners. The shower was great. The duvet was strange, it seemed to be filled with something like kapok and wasn't very warm and certainly not luxurious. Rain during the night caused gutters to overflow and the cascading water made enough noise to wake me - it wasn't heavy rain and so I assume that this is a maintenance issue.
All in all, a two star performance, although exposing guests to the possibility of a nasty fall is unforgivable at any rating. Fortunately we had a KGB deal and so we paid only a fraction of the normal rate, even so, we wouldn't return.
