My husband and I got married here in Sept 2011 and everything was perfect. The hotel and surrounding grounds are lovely, creating lots of great photo opportunities. The staff are really friendly and helpful, especially Robert MacBean & Richard Green (managers) who overseen the whole day and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was excellent, lots of choices and very tasty. My mother-in-law has even written to the hotel to ask for their Nut Cutlet recipe, which she had on the day and was very impressed with. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which is a lovely room in the new wing. Very spacious room with a beautiful big ensuite and great view of the gardens.

Lots of friends and family members who stayed at the hotel over the weekend have commented on how great their stay was.

I would highly recommend this hotel for weddings or just a break away. My husband and I will definitely be returning for a visit.

On the positive side, the hotel was warm, the bedroom large and the bed comfortable.

Unfortunately the hotel is in need of an overhaul. Our bedroom was a decent size, but was suffering from wear and tear. Tie backs were heavily frayed and the door was in need of a serious oiling. As is common of country house hotels the room has been converted to build a barroom, this has been rather unsympathetically executed in this case.

Dinner was disappointing. Initially we were ushered into the conservatory to be seated for dinner but the waitress showed flexibility and made a table in the bar instead. The lounge bar was decorated in a somewhat nicotine shade and had the aura of a residential home.

This hotel has all the potential to be charming but needs to have some capital invested in it.

I have stayed at this hotel regularly in the last few months and I just cannot fault it. The staff are all extremely helpful, the food is brilliant and the rooms large and very clean. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and management. The choice of food is excellent, at breakfast lunch and dinner. I have never eaten anything here that wasn't presented beautifully and always served with a smile. I have always stayed in the garden wing, which has lovely views of the grounds. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone, whether staying for business or leisure.

We had the most fantastic weekend at this hotel ,the staff were so nice the food excellent .
the rooms were spotless and excellent value for money.We would recommend this hotel to all our family.
