It was a very quiet Sunday evening, there were very few people in the Hotel , but this did not spoil what was an excellent stay, infact it has to be better than being surrounded by many many other tourists from all over the world, which the undoubtedly get at most other times of the year.
The Hotel is superbly located on the banks of the Loch, with its own jetty across the road (Use the subway passage to aces the Jetty as the road can probably be quite dangerous to cross as it is quite narrow.)
We were checked in quickly and easily by the pleasant young lady on duty, our room was located just at the end of the corridor, with a superb view out across the lake.
The room was large, clean and had a HUUUUUGEEE bed!
As stated, it was extremely quiet in the hotel, and there is not a great deal to do, especially when it gets dark at about 4 in the afternoon - we ate in the restaurant (nice fish and chips) and had a couple of drinks and that was about it
It had snowed overnight, which added to the general ambience,
Next morning we had an excellent breakfast sitting at a window seat with views across the Loch - simply stunning
The manager at check out was extremely friendly and we spent some time talking to him before leaving. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay, it is also excellent walking country if the weather permits!
