We were less than impressed with this B&B in Inverness. We arrived at about 5:00pm having pre-booked through Expedia but there was no-one in; we had to telephone the owner on his mobile, whereupon he came round "from the shop" to let us in.
The room was tired and unwelcoming, lit by bare low-energy bulbs. There was only one power point which was taken up by a trailing lead, into which was plugged a multi-socket for the kettle, tv and digibox. The tangle of wires resembled spaghetti.
Breakfast was very basic. We had ordered full Scottish breakfast but received a mass-produced sausage, bacon still with the white gunge on it, baked beans and an overcooked fried egg.
We paid £80 through Expedia for this stopover. When I compare this to what we got for the same or less elsewhere in Scotland I can only think that we paid over the odds for booking through Expedia. A lesson learned.
