“Fantastic breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff, rooms very clean and cozy, and the breakfast was amazing! It's great value for money all round. There's a bar attached to the hotel which was cheap and fun and noise didn't carry upstairs to disturb guests. It's suitable for families, couples or single travelers. Really helpful, personal service - would definitely go back. Wick is a great base for exploring the highlands.

Room Tip: all rooms seem spacious and well decorated.

“Lovely”

I loved Wick and my hosts Ryan and Beverley were friendly and accomodating. Big clean rooms and bathroom, well cooked breakfast and dinner. Local knowledge was also very helpful. Close, but not too close to the main shopping area and the harbour. Would definately stay there again.
Also very affordable and the staff were as helpful and pleasant as the hosts.

“Ideal location for a short stay and great value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2011 via mobile

For a short stay this hotel was perfect as it is in a great, easy to find location near the town centre. The room was very clean and nicer than I expected for a 2 star hotel.

There's also a bar on site which was handy for us for meeting up with all the family and friends. Enjoyed the good friendly service.

“Comfortable, clean, friendly and great value”

I've been staying here on business, despite it's two star rating there is very little that would bar it from acheiving better. The hotel is very clean, the staff are very friendly, efficient and helpful.

There are a few wee maintenance issues but I generally stay in 4 star hotels and have stayed in some worse than Breadalbane. It is also very close to the centre of town and the hospital but at the same time is quiet and has a gorgeous view of the harbour from some of the rooms.

If I were travelling to Wick with my family in the future I wouldn't hesitate to book a room here

“Very disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

Arrived with my husband, mother and father after a very tiring drive, looking forward to a nice relaxing evening and a good nights sleep. The outside of the hotel looked 'ok'. We went for a drink in the bar while the staff were finishing preparing our rooms. Bar was alright, but seats and tables were rather grubby looking. We were then given our keys and went up to dump our cases before heading out for something to eat. Our room was not too bad - a little tlc needed to finishing decor touches but we were reasonably happy with it. I went to check on how mum and dad were getting on and discovered my mum in floods of tears. The room that we had waited for to be prepared had 3 very unmade beds in it and the ensuite had piles of wet towels all over the floor. Staff were very apologetic and agreed to waver our charges as we set off to find alternative accomodation. All in all a very disappointing experience, and one that tends to leave an unfortunate sad taste in the mouth.

These guests were allocated the wrong room, we are very sorry but these things occassionally happen. They refused to even look at the correct room. An innocent mistake that could have been rectified immediately had the guests been cooperative. To brand the hotel very disappointing and give 1/5 is very unfair in my opinion.
