On arrival the hotel looks a bit on the old and dowdy side. But you know the old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover".
You will be greeted by very friendly staff or the owner. I believe the hotel has changed hands recently and the owber is making inprovements including fitting new double glazing.
The rooms are big enough and mine had brand new en suite facilities.
The bar area is spacious and the food excellent and very reasonably priced.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay and are on a budget give this hotel a try.

Had a meal in the bar which was excellent. Can also recommend the Orkney ale. Room & shower were clean & comfortable if a bit tired. Breakfast was very good too. The only real downside was that despite the nice desk space for a laptop, the wifi didn't work in the room - only in the reception & bar areas.

Stayed at the hotel for one night before heading to Orkney and it was sufficient for that. The room was very tired looking, and in need of a complete makover, Staff were helpfull, food was a decent pub standard. Reasonable value though.

Comfortable family room. Evening bar meal very good and excellent value for money. Breakfast excellent, and great selection of fresh summer fruits! Helpful, attentive staff. Would recommend this hotel.
