Like others who have posted reviews for this hotel, I had two nights stay on business. I would agree that the decor is somewhat dated but I would also say I found the place clean and the staff whether at reception or in the dining area were friendly and helpful. Despite the fact that the hotel was full (mainly with SAGA-type coach parties), service at breakfast and for dinner was first class and I found the standard of cooking to be very good. I was informed at the time of booking that I got the last room available and I have to say that while clean, it was very small indeed for a double room. I was also disappointed that I had a bath which seemed quarter-length and the shower attachment connected to the bath taps did not allow for a proper stand-up shower. Also a bit disappointed that there is no car park and that parking directly outside the hotel is time-limited during the day.

Stayed here during a business trip to Thurso. Hotel and rooms are comfortable enough but a bit old fashioned and worn. Breakfasts are good and staff are very friendly. Ok base for travelling/business in the far north but not really for a breakaway.

The staff were all friendly,the room clean and comfortable and the food good with service to match.

A one night stay We were made feel very welcome, bedroom small and dated, but clean. Dinner superb, the best fillet steaks we have ever had anywhere!
The BED! Every time you stretched or turned it was so NOISY! {Room 22} Did not make for a good nights sleep AT ALL! Shame, because apart from that a very friendly, welcoming place, just needs new beds!
