“Lacking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

The apartment is very nicely furnished and everything was neat and tidy but it seems that the company did not want to ensure their guests enjoyed their stay. The curtains were not black out so the street light shone into the room the entire night. Also no one seemed to have thought that as it is in the city centre sound proofing might be in order. I have stayed in various hotels in London and have been been in a place so noisy. Every sound from the street and the neighbouring apartments could be heard. Our second night there someone seemed to have a party and music was pumping through the walls for most of the night. Also for a serviced apartment I was surprised that we were expected to clean the whole apartment before check out.

“A Room with a View (of the NCP Car Park)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Good central location, easy and relatively cheap parking, spacious 1-bedroom apartment. Kitchen was surprisingly well equipped, although the fire blanket was missing (slightly risky).

Negatives: glass tables and slippery sofas aren't my cup of tea, and some more subtle independent lighting (i.e. not just a dimmer switch) would be nice. Double bed = 2 single beds pushed together, so there's an annoying and uncomfortable dip in the middle.

Overall, good value

“Good second choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

It has been my second stay in a flat in Glasgow. At first I tried to book Bathstreet 38 - made a great experience with that one - which had been full already. Therefore, we decided to book Hot-el apartments.

The apartment is good with all amenities you need. The beds could be comfier, especially the seperated ones are very narrow and not very suitable for tall persons. Apart from that everything was okay.

“Plenty of space but ..... some room for improvement”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Stayed here in March last year - only just got round to posting my review so my comments may be a bit out of date.

The good things about these apartments are that they provide much more space than a hotel room, are centrally located and are generally quite well equipped.

However the main thing that I really disliked was the lack of mattress protectors on the bed. I found this strange as they are the norm in most places I've stayed. I did query the absence of the mattress proctector with the receptionist who told me that they did not provide them.

It's obviously a personal preference but but it was the reason I didn't return to the apartments while I was based in Glasgow

I also thought the reception and corridors were in need of a bit of a spruce up to make them more welcoming.

“Beautiful apt, great location... but found the appliances dangerous.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We used the appliances to make breakfast. Something tripped the fuse box. The oven door came off in my partners hand almost crushing his foot - extremely dangerous with hot stoves on the hob and the oven on... It looked as though it had happened before and they just tried to stick it back on. So be careful when using the electrical appliances, can't be sure if it was the owners or the previous tenants that had tried but failed to rectify the problem. Extremely dangerous hence the terrible overall rating - shame as it was a beautiful apt.
The receptionist did apologise, but would recommend a visit from an electrician to PAT test everything.
Also, check in is badly managed. No parking outside to check in, but have to check in to get a fob for the carpark. The receptionist though was very pleasant and gave me the fob before I checked in so that we could park the car.
Despite the setbacks - the apt was beautiful, would definitely stay again, but I'd eat out...

Room Tip: Be careful when using the electrical appliances - I wouldn't normally blame the owners, but this...
