We stayed one night in July when we went to Hampden Park to see Bruce Springsteen. The apartments are the same owners of The Ewington Hotel also at Southside Glasgow, you have to check in at the reception of the Ewington which is just over the road.
Both hotel and apartments are in a residential tree lined street right opposite a lovely park, it felt like a safe area to walk.
We were put in a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom self catering apartment as there wasn't room at the hotel, but we had breakfast at the hotel as part of the room rate which was £99. The apartment block is not much to look at from the outside and the lobby smelled a bit stale, however, inside the apartments were fine. They are not luxurious but they are clean and very functional with kitchen, dishwaher, fridge, etc. and a decent size living space for a family. We were barely in it except to sleep but it served our purpose well.
It is about 15-20 minutes walk to Hampden Park and its the second closest hotel to HP (closest is Dunkeld, formerly 10 Queens Drive, we are staying there next week so watch this space for review - Dunkeld is a gorgeous hotel). There are a few shops and pubs round the corner and plenty of street parking, the latter is useful on concert nights if you get there early enough, although opposite the Dunkeld is concert parking for £5 (good value) on the huge park area.
Breakfast was over at the Ewington Hotel, it was self service and was okay to fill a gap before hitting the road, but hot items were kept in those silver heated servers which doesn't keep food hot enough I don't think - otherwise okay.
A good place to eat is over the park The Battlefields Italian Restaurant, otherwise the restaurant at The Dunkeld is really lovely and the foods good but pricey.
